This is what bothers me the most. This was a bridge that he burned in the most unnecessary and foolhardy way possible. I don't know how much of a chance he would have been considered for re-hiring, but he's effectively fucked himself out of an option for when his dreams ultimately come crashing down. I’ve been told on Good authority that it’s actually not that hard getting a Job teaching English/Japanese in Japan so long as you
1. Have fluent level of proficiency in both languages I.E being able to seamlessly talk to a native speaker for more than an hour
2. Have the degrees and skills necessary to facilitate a job like that, the fastest way outside of school is that you can also a court translator which is pretty easy to do (if you are fluent in both languages) to gain the necessary certifications and credentials without having to get an Education degree, depending on the school/sponsorship that wants you to teach them engrish. A lot of companies want English/Japanese translators to help them out with filings and shit like that and they will take pretty much anyone they can get.

Chibi has neither and will never teach English in Japan. It’s really fucking sad because he has this child like mentality that if you believe in something hard enough it becomes true without putting in the work, what an insufferable faggot

None of the people who do the English teaching thing in Japan are highly intelligent. They don’t have to be. Unironically, a third grade Japanese student probably possesses a vastly superior intellect over Chibi. They just need the body, a “fluent” English speaker, to provide accreditation.

I’ve known a few people with dead end jobs in the US who moved to Japan to teach English for even less pay, and their extent of the Japanese language was what they knew from DBZ and initial D.

The JET program vetting process is like any other talent acquisition, recruiting, or human resource department in the world. People can lie about their credentials, people can give good interviews, people can make mistakes. What Chibi may lack in education or experience, he easily makes up for in enthusiasm for Japanese culture which not even Japanese people have. He wants to be there when literally no one else does.

Supplemental and ancillary technology also trivializes the need to be fluent in the mother tongue. ChatGPT and other models are constantly being updated and are very accurate for most use cases.

At any rate, I sincerely hope he got a gig in Japan because the reality check crashout will be so good. You don’t go live where you like to vacation. If he thought life was unfair to him here, I cannot wait til he experiences how truly xenophobic Japan can be. They love making fun of fat anime faggots. On top of that, he will be completely broke and unable to constantly do all of the touristy things he enjoys doing when he visits Japan. The few people I knew who went to Japan on the JET program? 2 moved back after a couple of years because they realized that Japan is a shithole just like any other place in the world. Japan isn’t about anime, toys, and being slothful. The Japanese mostly hate lazy people and have no issues shunning them. Anime fags should be well aware of this. The third only stayed because he managed to get married, and then they moved to Australia (one shithole into another).

Holy fuck. We may have just watched Chibi ruin his own life. He left a cushy, well-paying job that put up with his endless shit and let him take copious amounts of time off, without even giving his two weeks notice.
