I don't know details but I have read that Trump's team has proposed changes to H-1B so that the wages are markedly higher so they're less of a "cheap labor" pool for companies and thus less incentive to hire. I don't know if it's in effect yet or ever will be but I hope so.
That seems like a Trump solution, really.

Appease the corporations by raising the number of H1-B visas available, but then change the conditions so that nobody wants to bring in any H1-Bs for anything but the kind of high-level expertise the system was intended for.

The art of the deal.

>Sec. Rubio slams Sen. Chris Van Hollen for his El Salvador trip: "We deported gang members -- including the one you had a margarita with -- And that guy is a human trafficker and that guy is a gang banger."
Late but I don't get it. Why is there no punishment for interrupting and breaking rules? Why can't you just lose your job if you refuse to do it properly? When will politicians actually get consequences for doing things?

The only way to really punish them is through elections. They're not going to vote to punish themselves and most are all buddies behind the scenes.

It's all fake, like wrestling. They give each other the finger and the chair in the ring, and then go out to a cocaine rager together for a fun weekend

They pretty much have to paint Vance as Satan himself to say he's more extreme than Trump.
They'll do what they do every time, "Boy howdy, we know we said the last guy was Hitler, but we had no idea just how much more Hitlery a conservative could be. This guy's such a Hitler, he makes the last guy look like a fluffy kitten!"

They already did it with Desantis when it looked like there was a ghost of a chance he might run, and they will do it with whatever Republican runs in 2028, even if it's Mitt Romney again.

And of course at no juncture did the Democrats say "you know what, I know he's an insufferable prick, but David Hogg has a point".
What, and admit making an error? NEVER! That's not a valid function in liberal programming.

Palestine protest in NYC during graduation
Never a "truck of peace" around when it's most appropriate to really make their point.

Not the first and not the last time theater kids fucked up something in politics.

The odd thing about Booth is that he wasn't just some rando, but one of the well known actors of his day. Him killing Lincoln was the period equivalent of Ryan Gosling turning up at Mar-a-Lago with a duffle bag of guns.
Ryan Gosling wouldn't do that.

Question for farmers whose employer hires pajeets through H1B. My office very recently hung up a bundle of paperwork about H1B next to the labor laws poster that's required in every place of employment. It has info like the base pay and roles for H1B hires (which was six-figures, by the way).

Has anyone else seen this? I'm wondering if I missed some piece of news that's requiring them to do this or if it's a nothingburger. Just wondering if anyone else has seen or heard anything about it.
That's normal, they've had to do that for a long time. I assume since the start of the program. The only really relevant change is the minimum pay they have to do to qualify has gone up a fair amount with the most recent change under Trump.

As if that's merely a problem with democrats.

100+ days and no Epstein files but a lot of excuses, and a push for more colossal spending bills/increases. Two things that get handwaved by a shitload of people here, for instance.

I enjoy getting all of the little assmad stickers though, it's cute. Like a silent tantrum.

Yeah, MovieBob made that point. The important thing to recognise is that being a famous actor in 1865 meant that you were known by maybe a thousand people. Booth killing Lincoln was more the equivalent of some low-grade influencer shooting Donald Trump
What a coward. Cant take accountability for his own choices so he throws his wife under the bus and hides under her skirts to shield himself from criticism.

Pathetic
He's always been that way, a weasely, cowardly yet immensely arrogant piece of shit. I look forward to seeing his shit get slapped in the way he's been begging for for a long time.

Reminder that Comey is taller than Trump and told some sob story about how Trump is such a big meanie doodoo-head that he hid behind the fucking curtains in the Whitehouse when he knew Trump was coming by.

He's literally the world's largest human vagina.
