I’m not singling you out but I think it’s worth using the word allegedly when discussing the nutty accusations Nick is making against the former nanny. People are lazy and often don’t engage their brains when perusing this thread.

I agree that Nick is throwing the former nanny under the bus this long after the fact because he's terrified of what the bodycam footage is going to reveal to the public. And in his Swiss cheese holed brain he thinks if he can somehow blame the messy shithole living conditions they lived in on her negligence, and abruptly leaving them it might lessen the damage.

I am sure somebody else has mentioned this already, but the fact that Nick is going after Nanny Chaney and not "Nanny" April really reinforces in my mind that he and April aren't completely separated.
Nick does not take rejection well, and April would be a far better candidate to try and blame if he's trying to get ahead of the bodycam release. She was there right up to the arrest, even though we know the whole Nanny thing with her was a cover.
Instead, he has to go back to the Nanny who quit in February, three months before the arrest, to try and find a scapegoat. It's really fucking weak, but it's about all he's got.

He very well might be doing so. A couple of points on that.
- On the PrettyAntisocial vid he mentioned that Kayla and April could never remember the combination of the safe in which he kept his coke. What an odd thing to say. First of all, I'm sure it's a lie. Second, is he going to conjure up a story where Chaney or Aaron knew it?
- For you in particular, Nick talked at length about drug testing this morning. (It was pretty boring so I doubt it'll be clipped - I was barely following.) You might find it informative as you glom together all of his bullshit about testing. His comments ranged from canine dog sniffers being ineffective to sweat tests to, yes, hair follicle testing. He claims that courts and POs do not like sweat tests or hair follicle testing... for whatever reason.

I could believe that the are completely separated but he continues to defend her because he doesn't want her to get mad at him and start telling stories. Even if she just came out and said "Aaron never ate Nick's goo - I made that up to turn on Nick because he really enjoyed demeaning Aaron." it would be devastating to Nick.

I strongly disagree on the basis that I don't think Nick is actually capable of love. I've mentioned this before, and not soon after he made that really bizarre comment about "really liking" April and his wife.
The man is a sociopath. Sociopaths don't know what love is. He even said at one point he had fun stealing April from Aaron. She is a fucktoy to him. A object. A thing. Not a human being.
To that end, I believe he would turn on her in a heartbeat if she rejected him, or she became a liability to him.
That would be a good secondary possibly, I suppose.
