Council minutes for May 6th
"No action," really has to grind RG's gear, but it also goes to show that most city/local council meetings tend to be very mundane unless there is something controversial happening in or regarding the locality.
I imagine Mr Baylocq's surprise will be nothing compared to that of Mr Huber when he finds out his name has been attached to a brothel company by Greer.
It sounds like someone on the council read Greer's powerpoint ahead of time, and contacted Baylocq out of concern. Otherwise he wouldn't know to show up to the meeting like this.
If this is like any other small town or neighborhood, people know each other and all it takes is one person who is up on all the happenings to tip off their friend/neighbor/colleague that something is going down regarding their property. Similarly, small communities dislike outside people trying to rabble rouse or cause trouble/needless drama. If not already, RG will very likely burn any metaphorical bridges in that community with his antics.
Greer lies to a realtor in a small town to rope him into the brothel dealings, and said realtor probably never dreamed up the level of lies or insanity that was being leveled at him.
Mr. Huber has confessed to me that his own involvement with Greer was news to him. Specifically he mentioned that he is now "finding out quite a bit about Mr Greer" and that he was lied to by Greer, though he used the following phrase to describe it: "different opinion on the subject of our dealings.
Further, he fears this may cause him serious problems in the future.
If this is a small type of community, Mr. Huber probably took RG and his words at face value without looking deeper or doing any due diligence because that's the norm and
most people are willing trust others at their words. It sounds like Mr. Huber realized right away that RG has a very checkered background that not only raises red flags but also sounds an endless warning klaxon.
One hopes Mr. Huber has swiftly severed, or will, any existing ties with RG in an effort to salvage his reputation while he still can. Many people are willing to respect someone who would admit, "Yeah, I trusted him - that was a big mistake. Once I learned the truth, I dropped him faster than a hot potato

and I'm going to be
way more careful who I deal with moving forward."
As for the recent filings, RG certainly isn't doing himself any favors. Even paying the filing fee has the potential to make things worse.
Hmm, the relevant quote got eaten somehow, but I appreciate what
@Useful_Mistake has posted and his integrity in not disclosing the rest until a more appropriate time. As much as those following the case want to know all the happenings, sometimes we just have to wait - especially when it proves to be worth it in the end.
Edited to add missing words.
