Lord Frogmire Appreciation Thread - The Better Brother (Formerly Known as Synthetic Man Appreciation Thread) - Might have an account here

I went through the arduous task of listening to that entire review and it's painful. Say what you want about Synth but I'm glad that he's not even 10% as retarded as these subhumans
Nah, Synth definitely is. Hearing him say the difficulty sliders were le bad for some nonsense reason was pretty painful to listen to and just made him sound like he needed something to be mad about, on top of being mad about the game changing things he didn't like in Eternal and 2016.

>Synth: I hate that you have to quickswap weapons in Eternal!
>Don't have to swap weapons in TDA and in fact they even removed quickswap
>Synth: Grr I hate that there's no reason to swap weapons in this game!

Not saying that response video doesn't have some tism moments, but the faggot literally can't be happy.

That's not even the worst part, he later called the game WOKE because Debra voiced Thira. He also thinks Thira is a girlboss when she literally isn't lmao. The guy was far more forgiving of Baldur's Gay 3's wokeness than he is this game that isn't woke, it's actually insane.

He's been getting more nitpicky over time. His reviews have slowly gotten less credible

To be fair to Synth it's hard to be mad at this game because it's so aggressively 7/10 average in every single aspect so his usual gimmicks don't apply here.

Debra Wilson playing a role in your game is all you need to know the game has been "coded". No disrespect against her personally. Its just the people she is working with that i hate.

>DBDR illustrates how he was blackmailed into a shitty "friendship"
>"Enabling retard!"

Yeah, Synth is just shitting on DBDR to feel better about himself at this point.
DBDR deserved everything. He is a horrible person that broke his friends i think dead mothers ashes vase when he was in his friends bathroom and then swept it under the rug and didnt tell him. That is why his friend backstabbed him and doxxed him.
Why do you even wanna date some chinks in the first place anyway?
Because he cant get white women hence the popular term "he had to get a gook".
Asian girls are some of the very last women in the world that still act and look feminine.
This is what happens when you overdose on japan worship. Literally delusional

His point on that was valid. These people should be trying to create a curtailed experience. Adding sliders for everything is just lazy because rather then you balancing the game and making sure it's the right difficulty and fun, you say "ehh fuck it, you figure it out." It shows a lack of craftsmanship on the developer's part.

The game already gives you prebuilt difficulties, the sliders are just there if you wish to fine tune your experience or mess with the settings on repeat playthroughs.

There's the standard difficulty options at the start of the game. The sliders are additional options you can adjust. How is giving the player the ability to mess with options you would normally have to mod/cheatengine lazy?

It can be an indication of this, and I can't say that I really care whether Doom the Dark Ages had difficulty sliders for this reason, but I would say that difficulty sliders can also be a good thing to make the game more fun either through added difficulty or just having fun by making your character overpowered like in Dead Cells.

When you design the difficulty, you should have the experience in mind on what that should feel like already. So, let's take a simple one: Easy, Normal and Hard. You might want Easy to be Journo mode where pretty much anyone can beat it. Hard you'll say is really challenging and suppose to make you work for it. Normal may be in between. So if these are your goals, so now need to work within that. Maybe Level 4's boss is still to hard on Easy Mode. Or even Normal. OK, so tone it down. Will it still be fun for Hard mode? Well, maybe we should change one if it's attacks for hard mode so it feels more like a challenge.

When you add sliders for everything, it means you never need to do the above. Level 4's boss is still too hard. Who cares, turn down enemy health and it's fine. Hard still too easy, ahh give yourself no health and its fine. It means the player is doing the work of the developer. You should be setting the pace for the player. Maybe the arena on Level 6 is suppose to make ammo scares and make you really plan. Add a slider for ammo usage and there goes the fun experience you just curtailed. And thats just it, you are giving the player an experience. Most of the memorable moments from specific parts of a game were not created with fucking sliders.
>BUT MUH PLAYER CHOICE
Player choice should always be within the confines of the rules you set. Sure, you could give a Button that just beats the game for you, and pressing it would be player choice, but does that make it fun?? Of course not, but this is essentially what your doing with sliders. In the end, it's just passing off your job to the player and makes the whole thing bland.

Retarded opinion. The game already comes with SIX preset difficulties, the sliders are just a bonus.
