I think the final catalyst was when the Synth Appreciation thread blew the fuck up over a minor Vtuber issue. A lot of synth's fans felt betrayed over his association with Kirsche, like as if Synth was ever a man to uphold his word . Even though I mock Synth for using the term "Parasocial", it aptly applies to many detractors.
