Is there some lore for why these commentary guys all hate Technicals? This is my first real exposure to the guy but it seems he's just a vaguely edgy guy who calls out the infamously bad Melee community.

I think an important thing to note from Tech's video that he explicitly told Hax to disavow him and to not associate with him in any way publicly. To me, that shows a degree of selflessness that no one else showed hax during his last few years on earth. As someone in the field, the popularization of therapy and psychology in general was a mistake. Without the excuse of "go to therapy and shut up for a while idiot", communities would actually have to deal with and support the members of their group, seeing as that's one of the reasons we like to congregate into little social tribes. Everything that was both fulfilling for hax and validated his reason for living were stripped from him. The existence of therapy gives people a sense that they're ill-fitted to help anyone by simply talking and telling the other person that you do in fact see their struggle.

The short version is Technicals has been calling out a lot of the Smash Community's BS for a while now. Rather than address Technicals criticism, they just cry on Twitter/Discord/Grindr that "HES DESTORYING OUT COMMUNITY BY POINTING OUT OUR SHITTY BEHAVIOR."

I think the specific point was the Ban Nairo shit. Nairo was legit a pedo and had sex with a minor (I think he was 15) at a Smash event and tried to say he was blackmailed or something. Tech didn't buy any of this shit and made videos. Then a few faggots got to see a SUPER SECRET DOCUMENT that totally proved Nairo was innocent (mind you, we've never seen what the document says) and the Lemmings that populate the Smash scene just bought it because Nairo makes Mario move all cool and shit. Now, Tech was banned from tournaments, so he decides to truly become a member of the FGC and dressed up as a girl to sneak into an event so he could hold up a sign at Grand Finals that said "Ban Nairo". Now, the irony is that there was no security so he didn't have to do the dress shit but I'm sure it made him more sympathetic to Guilty Gear fans. Gimr, who ran VGBC, got all pissy and confronted Tech in the most passive aggressive way possible.

Now, this is relevant for ANOTHER chain of events. See, Smash fags are actually retarded. These are the people who don't like items because they'd have to learn what the baseball bat does and we can't have that. So you have this company, VGBC, that wants to do a World Series. Cool. This other company, Panda Global, who is run by a Cuban named Dr. Alan (yes he's an actual doctor) also got a license with Nintendo. Now, Gimr is retarded and he announced the event before his application was approved AND they made an official response about Technicals coming out as a woman and ruining their grand finals with his sign. Turns out, this kind of revealed they had no security despite their Health and Safety guide saying they did. Nintendo pulls out and Gimr blames Dr Alan. Now, Dr Alan had nothing to do with this but, again, Smash Bros Lemmings. Company is basically ruined by this and a lot of people lost their jobs. I've been told that despite being 13% of the FGC, Striver commit 52% of all sexual assaults in the FCG. This is such a niche issue that getting people who aren’t already in the know on board is going to be difficult. The public perception propagated is that Hax$ was a crazy guy who stalked and harassed Leffen and needed mental health assistance. It takes a lot of explanation to overcome that and most people are not going to read pages of apologetics or watch hours long videos giving a factual rundown of the events that led to his (potentially wrongful) death.
