Immediately after making that post I just did I remembered something.
The dilbert TV show existed.
I looked up the theme because I forgot what it was, and then I was greeted by his co-worker dog turning dilbert into a meme and then setting the fucking office on fire.
It's also the same theme as
The oingo boingo movie.

Open your source image in whatever editor
Create two new layers; one that's entirely white below the source image, and another that's entirely transparent above the source image, like this:
>1. Transparent
>2. Source
>3. White
Draw/trace everything in the transparent layer (remember to disable antialiasing!). Hide the source image if you want to preview the finished product. Once you're done, delete the source image and export the remainder
Tips:
>Use thicker lines for outlining and thinner ones for detailing
>If you're worried about stylistic consistency, try looking at existing 'riants for inspiration
>If you want it to become popular you'll have to force it which will take time and effort and may not work

yeah do all this and you get a dnb variant that nobody will use
