I haven't watched them in years. I first saw Aaron Sparrow on their show, and I usually like the vids he does with Wes from Thinking Critical. Though I don't follow anyone from CG regularly anymore, so maybe he's lost the plot too and I just haven't noticed yet.

Honestly, I think because they did more general pop-culture. No one really gives a shit about comics, and if they do, the odds of them finding Richard's channel as it sits dying in hospice seems unlikely.

In a sense, when someone has a broader scope, more people can find something to hate. Despite how irrelevant he is, Moviebob has two threads spanning nearly 6k pages, because Bob spergs about everything. Politics, religion, pop-culture, you name it. Not to say Clownfish is anywhere near that level of cow, but I think having a general channel makes you a bigger target.

ClownfishTV can be repetitive, but when they do talk about Disney and comics, they tend to do so through the lens of their own lived experiences in that industry.

They also have a toy store, among other businesses, so when they talk about how the retail market is affected by changes in the hobby industry, they know what they are talking about - more than those content creators that don't have any hands-on experience in these things.

Also, their OG Star Wars love feel more genuine than most other content creators', as Geeky Sparkles had a character named after her in one of the Star Wars novels. (Or so she claims anyway.)
