It would be, but Googles was retarded enough to date Chibi in the first place so I'm willing to accept the social norms that apply to most of us fly over the heads of people like her and Chibi.

Yeah I'm working on the assumption he'd quit rather than be fired. Once he's exposed to the reality of Japanese work culture (especially in comparison to the cushy AT&T job he threw away) on top of the fact he'll be completely isolated in a foreign country I think he'll snap in a matter of months.

If this whole thing isn't fanfic and really comes to pass I wouldn't be surprised if the Japan arc ends with Chibi convincing his mom to come collect him and bring him back home. I wouldn't even put it past him to get her to quit his job for him.

Fun fact, there are agencies in Japan where you can hire an agent to quit your job on your behalf. This is because Japanese bosses can be quite cult-like when it comes to leaving and pressure people into staying. Although having his mom do it might be a first.

See, this is what I think a lot of people feel will happen, but I competely disagree on this point. Chibi has done and will do well in Japan socially, better than in the US. He's made "friends" with Japanese people, on and offline, and was able to get them to do things with him and Googly when they went on that trip.

How can this be? Is Japan really the place that is Adam's true home, where he belongs? No, of course not. His "friends" hate and are embarrassed by him there too. But they're competely defenseless against him. Chibi is a boarish bully who doesn't care if he burdens, annoys, or embarrassed others, as long as he gets what he wants. He's insistent and doesn't take no for an answer. The smarter nips will figure this out and quietly ghost him on all fronts, if they're able to do so. But a lot of them, especially those who have to interact with him, will be cowed into doing what he wants because he ignores (both because of his autism and because he wants to) all of their social signals to stop. When Chibi askes the cute 22-year-old teacher at his school to go on a date, he isn't going to care when she tries to say she busy, or tries to "ちょっと..." her way out of it. He'll keep throwing out days, and pestering her, or be conniving and wait until she says she's going somewhere with friends and invite himself, until she eventually caves and agrees. Just like in his sales job, which everyone thought he would be terrible at, his sociopathic disregard for others will serve him extremely well in Japan.

Maybe Whites and Blacks aren't so different after all. They're both niggers.

This is exactly the same mentality that young Black men target Asians in American cities, for mugging purposes or for fun (physical assault). Asians, coming from a relatively higher trust and peaceful society have lower testosterone and have less aggressive and assertive personalities, compared to White and Black folks.

Not only is Chibi an overbearing and assertive (by Japanese standards) sex pest, but he is also an autist so when the young woman Chibi is bothering says "I'm too busy today to go out for coffee with you" instead of "reading the air" and understanding this to mean "sorry I'm not interested" Chibi will instead say "how about tomorrow? no, how about the day after tomorrow? 2 days from now???" Eventually the poor young woman will break down and reluctantly offer him a pity date.

I enjoyed your post a lot but I still respectfully disagree.

You're absolutely spot on in regards to Chibi's bull in a china shop approach to social etiquette, but remember he also has severe social anxiety and regularly breaks down if he doesn't get instant validation for whatever his hobby of the week is. There will come a point where he is on the verge of a melty and needs asspats to hold it together and I don't think any of the nips he's holding hostage will give it to him.

Instead they'll all stare awkwardly at the floor while the grown man dressed as Roxas sings 'Simple & Clean' with tears streaming down his face.

Correct.

He might be foolhardy but he’s certainly not this alpha weeb who imposes himself on everyone and asserts any sort of dominance, through pity or otherwise. This is a guy who regularly cries on Facebook for every little thing. This is a guy who drove several hours to an anime convention where he wasn’t wanted and just locked himself in a hotel room. This is going to be his real Japan experience.

If he does decide to move to Japan, he will certainly meet up with a few weebs like himself. These weebs aren’t going to want to join his Discord server or want to talk to him every day for hours on end. The friends he will make will want to do things surrounding their shared hobbies - maybe go to dinner every once in a while. That’s it. It’s not going to be enough for him.

Im excited as anyone for the 日本しょう but i dont think he quite grasp how the Japanese culture and social norms are there. I can see his neighbors telling him to shut the fuck up late at night during one of his bing bing wahoos streams because you can bet your ass he will do "living in japan" streams when he gets settled in. Honestly i dont see him living for too long in Japan or if he does end up there, he will inevitably get in trouble.
