The NRA is shit and there are better orgs to donate to, and I'm a 2nd amendment absolutist (I think the Machine Gun registry is unconstitutional and you should be able to buy a silencer no questions asked and there should be one single CCW for the whole country). There are probably other people on this forum who can really get into why the NRA is shit but my example that I'll give is there was a black guy- Philando Castile who was a legal concealed carry holder who a cop at a traffic stop shot despite doing everything correct (telling the cop. he has a gun, being safe about it etc) and the NRA refused to represent him (well their legal arm which was set up to protect gun owners from this situation. Here is an article about it (yes I know its the Huffington Post). The NRA also supported the bump stock ban link on this one (yes I know it is NPR but still) basically the NRA does not support gun owners. it supports gun manufacturers. The 2nd Amendment applies to everyone regardless of politics, race, religion, sex etc. The NRA is what happens when boomers run the show. I don't want legally carrying blacks shot the same way I don't want legally carrying whites to get shot. Also many ranges REQUIRE you to join the NRA to use their facilities. Gun Owners of America (GOA) is the better group to donate to, and I imagine that's probably what H3 donates to. I will say one thing: The NRAs education arm is top notch, and so are their competition shooting events. But that doesn't cover for their bullshit legal arm and lobbying arm.
