I have started taking 1200mg of it once daily and have noticed that I am just gliding thorough life when I am out in public. I have taken N.A.C before and have seen the benefits of it from a lung health standpoint but afterwards it can help with O.C.D/anxiety/AD-HD. Any other health bros in here want to chime in on their experience?

If you don't have actual lung issues, don't take it.
It's like using nicotine patches when you're not smoking.

Bad comparison. N-acetylcysteine is a precursor for glutathione, which is a highly effective anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory by itself, but also regulates and improves the efficiency of other anti-oxidants, as well as generally improving metabolism. Its use as a treatment for some lung problems is largely incidental to that; it's not regulated as a medical drug outside the US, but is classed instead as a health supplement. I wouldn't call it a miracle pill, but taking it on a regular basis is, at the very worst, harmless and in most cases is good for you.

I liked it while I was taking it. I ended up with a prescription for montelukast and a steroidal inhaler (asthma/allergies, not smoking) and I didn't feel like it made a difference on top of those so I didn't stick with it since it was a bit hard to find for a while during covid, especially once rumors started going around that the FDA was going to ban/regulate it. I'm about to order a batch of supps so maybe I'll throw on a bottle to see how I feel about it now since my lungs have been a bit irritated lately even with the prescription stuff I'm on

Be careful with timing if you drink alcohol. NAC can worsen impact on the liver if taken after or shortly before alcohol consumption, but if taken in advance it can mitigate its negative effects.

It's good for general health.
I've avoided colds/flus from travel.

However, I have switched up to B-3 dosing. B3 gives me the energy I need.

I haven't really noticed any difference with NAC but I haven't tried it consistently because it tastes like vomit and makes me feel nauseous so I hate taking it. John McAfee supposedly took a shitload of it to counteract the legendary amount of alcohol he'd drink daily so it probably does something good.
I've had good results with glycine + theanine for anxiety and sleep. So far that's my favorite racist bodybuilder meme supplement.

Only for hangovers and then it works wonders

I've been taking NAC+ for a month - 600mg in the morning, 600mg with dinner. I haven't noticed anything other than I have been sleeping better, not sure if that is related or not.

Poor take IMO. Nicotine has improved my life and I've never been a smoker, and I've been using nicotine since lock down. Sure, it's highly addictive and my use ramped up quick (up to 12mg zyn at one point) but I tapered down and now use 1mg gum (cut a 2mg cum in half). I feel more switched on, and with working out that kick adds to my workout. YMVV, I have an addictive personality (alcohol, food, oxy in the past) so call it a cope but I need *something* and there are possible upsides such as maybe being neuro protective - I saw my grandfather turn into a potato for the last few years of his life, so that's also my rationale. I just wish they made low doze zyn so I didn't need the gum but 3mg is the lowest which I think, at least for myself, is too much and leads to increased use because it wasn't long after using 3mg I switched to 6mg and then 12mg.

I don't drink much if at all but does it make your liver toast or just not ideal for it?
I don't trust anything with the word 'stein' in it.
Literally cannot argue this at all tbh.
I've took it on and off for about half a decade. Wish it didn't stink so bad.

I've given bottles of it to people trying to quit opiates. Two success stories and two failures.
I have been for a good while as mentioned and feel mentally as sharp as a tack. It's been great for me in many avenues.

While it may help out someone that drinks like him it's also something that has to build up in your system for sure. If you don't let it build for at least a month the best effects are missed thats how it functions.

I worked with a doc who swore up and down a mix of NAC+Costco Generic Mucinex (or any other normal release of that guaruanunuefuenisiusenins stuff, not the slow-release of brand Mucinex) in the AM with your vitamins and a BIG glass of water was a good thing to do before your shower, your nose sludges out all your goop in the hot water
also iirc it's a good "good for what ails you" type thing for generally loosening your body's fluids in good ways
I take it every day and it seems to work for me
I had been doing just the guwnusnasninef but then they started getting NAC in at walmart so it was easy to grab, seems to improve the nose goop

I Don't know what any of those words mean but when I was dealing with a lung infection and was hacking up mucus it worked out great for me.

I have noticed my sleeping recently is significantly more powerful but not nesseciarly harder to get into/wake up from and I do feel somewhat more rested it's not some night and day type difference in being refreshed.

One of those I have considered many times and then forgot. Well thanks to this thread I bought some today. Will be reporting on my progress to enlightenment, if I remember. Guess most effects start kicking in slowly as weeks go by.

** I guess I give my first report 2 hours in. My airways opened like with some strong menthol drop or something.

I worked with a doc
at a previous time I was employed by an MD
who swore up and down a mix of NAC+Costco Generic Mucinex (or any other normal release of that guaruanunuefuenisiusenins stuff, not the slow-release of brand Mucinex) in the AM with your vitamins and a BIG glass of water was a good thing to do before your shower
he suggested NAC and Guaifenesin (normal acting generic, not the slow acting branded Mucinex ) in the morning could be beneficial for allergies and other general congestion issues
, your nose sludges out all your goop in the hot water
if taken before your morning shower it can be a good way to clear your sinuses for the day while the hot water and steam allows the mucus to loosen even further
also iirc it's a good "good for what ails you" type thing for generally loosening your body's fluids in good ways
my recollection is something along the lines of that it loosens fluids and secretions at large, allowing bile, mucus, and other things to process more effectively, not unlike the general advice of a slight amount of aspirin to thin the blood

I had previously been using only Guaifenesin due to availability issues, but local stores started carrying NAC. Since then I feel I've received suitable improvements to my morning de-goop-ening that I continue to buy it.
