Merely hypothetical. Most people say that shoplifters are always women and I don't think that is true and I wonder how many Female Kiwis have done it before or anything merely a discussion, and please keep it hypothetical and don't get into details that identify you, Were you caught? Did you have to pay a fine?

I have a system where I steal swag from the grocery store pretty much every time I go and "forget" to take stuff out of my reusable bags to put on the till. Fuck them, prices have sky rocketed and they're boasting annual record profits. I like to think I've saved quite a bit of money over the years.
I also go to places like Goodwill/thrift stores and if I find something I like and the price sucks I peel a sticker off something else with a better price and place it over the other one. They get free merchandise and have ridiculous prices 😒
Do either of these count as shoplifting? Maybe not lol

Back when I was an annoying little shit, I'd save the boxes, packages, etc, of whatever me or my parents had bought. Would put some crap in there for weight, carefully seal them up, take them back to store and sneak them back on the shelf.

I bought a deer feeder a couple years ago in a box that was taped back together. I get home and find it is missing the entire motor, then I had to feel like a nigger when I returned it knowing they had to think I just stole the motor. I blame you .

If you didn't pay for it it's consider stealing. The funny thing is people are like Target and WALMART doesn't play. Half the time the CCTV footage is ass despite being around for years which is why it's hard to solve some cases. People have shared tips but like some say "lol done steal this is a ROLEPLAY." I am more willing to allow it.

If you're in the USA there's a lot of boxes around the kids aisles that kids have stolen. Like car toys or even LPS mystery boxes. As long as you don't stick around places too long then it's fine. Other then that I can't really fault people for stealing from Target or Walmart. Unless you want LP on your ass. It's very much a problem.

One time I bought a local band’s CD at a local record store. When I got it home, there was no actual CD in the jewel case. I took it back to the record store and the clerk looked at me like I had kept the CD until another clerk who knew more about local music scene and knew the singer was a heroin addict who was recently arrested for DV said “that sounds like something the band would do on purpose,” so I got a refund.

I'm in California and I'm pretty sure if I shoplift, businesses are legally required to give me a lollipop, pat me on the head, and say "Yes Queen, you are so valid"

I was actually accused of shoplifting at a nearby liquor store when I was a kid and it scared the hell out of me. Thankfully I was with my mom who was about to climb over the counter and rip the guy's nuts off so nothing bad happened. It's been 20 years and I still won't go in that place alone, lol.

Some former workers had also even said they're not allowed to intervene. As they aren't really paid enough. Shops like Five Below and Party City are examples. One former worker was like "yeah someone took a 300$ Animatronic out the door and we weren't allowed to say anything."

It's not that guilty to steal. Shoplifters remorse is a one time thing then it becomes a problem. Most shoplifters from what I can gather are underage. There's rarely any adults doing it or aren't really around. But if you're a shifty nigger then ofc they're gonna do what Tom does from Animal Crossing and follow you around which is funny if you have naturally curly hair.

I used to sneak candy bars and Kinder eggs when I was a little kid for a bit. Family was broke and we could barely afford basic necessities when the economy took a nose dive so kid me felt miserable and dumb enough to risk getting into trouble over little comforts like some sweets and figurines.

Strangely I never got caught, the supermarkets had cameras and those scanner things at the exit. I could have my pockets full of mars bars and shit and it would never blare the alarm like it's supposed to, nobody went after me either because I guess I just looked like a lost toddler. Only time I've seen it work was when some poor sap paid for his stuff and as he went out only THEN the damn thing started screeching.
I honestly just feel bad for the workers, every time something is stolen it's taken from their pay and the security systems suck ass. I've never shoplifted since because I'm not a snotty 7 year old anymore.

One time my fourth grade class took a field trip to a botanical store and there were trees that had hundreds of smooth stones covering the base so I stuck one in my pocket like I would at the beach. I showed it to someone on the bus and they told the teacher and I got in trouble and they told me I shoplifted on purpose because they sold bags of the stones there (which I hadnt even seen) and I had to go back to the store with my parents and do a big apology and give it back and I am still seething about it
