His entire brand was so toxic his channel was effectively dead for two years and now that everything is six years in the past, he has made a career of talking about Dan Schneider he suddenly feels comfortable admitting he's still petty about it.

Leafy's whole channel was deleted and people were divided on pro-cenzorship and anti-cenzorship, Gokanaru was all about the latter, and Ethan was perceived as a pro-cenzorship, which fueled their feud even more. The main consensus at the time was that Ethan is pulling strings, avoiding uncomfortable questions, you know the drill. Gokanaru was putting leafy Easter eggs in his videos and the whole commentary community was shitting on Ethan non-stop.
Then a few years passed and now we are here.
Unfortunately this background made Gokanaru very anti-Ethan by default, and now no matter what happens, he larps as a neutral side when in fact is trying to come up with a reason why you should not side with Ethan in the current drama. I tried to watch his streams about it, but other than eating a shoe moment it is exhausting. You can't side with Ethan whose best friend betrayed him and joined a group harassing Ethan's family, because Ethan said something allegedly incorrect about Israel vs Palestine, and Gokanaru knows that this was incorrect statement because he went to university and everyone aksully should know how many people died at Nakba day, but Ethan said a wrong number, blah blah, the usual sjw trick to change the subject and get offended by it.
I don't expect Gokanaru to have a meaningful contribution on the topic any time soon.
