I'm in favor of Kiwimarking most footage, but the particularly juicy footage (such as arrests) should be niggermarked so that anyone who wants to see it has to come here.

We should also add a thread or a poll for new users to share which YouTube channel brought them here.

You could also make two versions. A public version that's niggermarked, and kiwimarked version posted in one of those purple blocks only viewable if logged in. Now essayist need to advertise they have an account to post the no another armed version.

While I do like the idea of openly advertising the farms logo around, I just think that most people in general shouldn't join the farms. Most of them would just treat the forum like any other social media and end up getting laughed off the site. Cute as it would be, you should really be looking to dispel the farms' bad reputation rather than troll people with le funny gamer word.

The farms detractors can't be swayed by concession because the farms has to be vilified to suit their narratives. They aren't grifters, pedophiles, liars, etc, it's just that everyone on here is evil. The information curated and stored here can't coexist with the desire for every person to be the hero of their own story and morally good in their own mind.

So even if every square inch of KF was plastered with "I love Trans women of color" it wouldn't change a single mind.

It would be best, imo, to make a KF specific tag. Getting out to more people with a recognizable brand doesn't change anything that's already done, but it forces people that use KF to credit the site and could serve to promote growth.

The entire point of archiving is preserving footage and information as close to its original form ie. at the highest quality and without molesting it. I hate when shitass Telegram groups make citizen journalism footage unwatchable with watermarks.
There should at minimum be some private archive where unedited footage is stored. Keep it out the hands of grifters if it bothers you, but don't let data be lost.

I object to using nigger as the text for only one reason.
It doesn't identify where the clip came from, which should be the top priority. So the slop content farms are using Clips, so what? We need users and more support!
Using "kiwifarms.st" would be far more helpful to both piss off the retards and drive true & honest people to the site.
Nigger is amusing in a baby-child sort of way, but it will honestly drive away people before they can see the good of the site.
Plus how do we differentiate from other adjacent sites that would find this funny? The sharty, O&A, all of them use the nigger word. Once they get word of the technique, it won't be possible to tell where a clip came from.

KiwiFarmsmarking = a bunch of retarded a-logs coming to build a personal army
Niggermarking = Fewer people and less traffic on the site but more likely higher tier posters
I personally would much rather have the few come over the many. The site still gets new users every day without the traffic driven from KFmarking.
If the site ran more merch sales, ran ads, actually made money off of traffic to the site, I could see KFmarking as the more reasonable solution, but it doesn't. I'd personally rather gate keep the content than get the influx of alogging retards that KFmarking will bring

I think its a safe bet that 99% of the people itt have had a Youtube account long before they have had a kiwifarms account.
Kiwifarms isn't some seekrit club. Every community needs fresh blood or it will become stagnant and die.

Yes exactly. Big scrolling watermarks that take up the whole screen are annoying no matter what they say.

There is absolutely no value to advertising the site or trying to make niggermarking more widely palatable.

The site can't exist with zero ally's. Null needs to find ally's who will work with him for dono's. He needs to have datacenters who will be willing to host his equipment.
If people want to spam nigger all over clips they make I don't really care. It just means your clip will never get shared. Which I guess is ok by the people who feel they "own" a cow.

I personally think it's more fun seeing the KF logo pop up on more mainstream sites when clips or stories get traction. Cog got his CogsWorld stream logo entered in to the court record as evidence in the Nick Rekieta case because he had the whole coke stream on his youtube channel. And it was always funny to see our KWFalways.win logo pop up on the ip2always.win site back in the heyday of ip2.

We've been doing this since last year. We have a clipper in Deathfats who watermarks everything she makes with our name and logo, It's dramatically cut down uncredited use, and also caused some chimpouts. We have another who does the spinny url thing across the screen. Both of these are very funny. Some GorlWorld reactors are very Farms friendly and have no issue using our watermarked clips, so the niggermark wouldn't be appropriate for friends of the Farms.

I am completely onboard with the targeted watermarking of the clippers choice when it makes sense. A forced server side thing is cringe and gay.
