A worker, aged 35 years old, was killed today (Tuesday) after being struck by an exploding tire during his work at a business in the industrial zone of Ramla. Magen David Adom (MDA) medics and paramedics who were called to the scene found the worker with no signs of life and suffering from a severe head injury, and pronounced him dead at the scene. The man was apparently repairing the tire of a bus.
The man was identified as 35-year-old Mohammed Ismail al-'Abra from Ramle.
MDA motorcycle unit paramedic Yissachar Weiss said: "The injured man was lying unconscious, without a pulse and not breathing, and he had very severe injuries to his body and head. We performed medical assessments, but unfortunately, the injury was fatal and we had no choice but to pronounce him dead at the scene."
Senior EMT from United Hatzalah, Elchanan Roth, added: "When I arrived at the business, I found a worker, a 36-year-old man, unconscious, without a pulse and not breathing, with a serious head injury, after being struck by a tire that exploded during his work. Sadly, due to the nature of the injuries, the MDA paramedics had to pronounce his death on site."
