Ffmpeg has been ported to wasm. You should absolutely do everything on the client, ideally not doing transcoding.

Watermarking is gay and cringe. Its like caring about upvotes or stickers. Who cares if some faggot use a clip posted here for their YouTube. We are here to laugh at cows not get some internet cred like a faggoty redditor.
 
Think its fine to not have a watermark if you shout the farms out. TurkeyTom is Metokur 2.0 in recycling farms research but at least is honest that most of his stuff is pulled off here.
Some of these commentary nigs deserve it though, so I'm torn.

I am once again reiterating that the point of a niggermark is not to make Turkey Tom's audience aware that he stole the content from kiwifarms, the point is to force him to stop stealing content from kiwifarms by making it unusable and verboten to advertisers.

Some of you are operating under the presumption that clips with a giant nigger watermark are going to appear in grifttubers' slop docs as a result of this, and I have to assume that you're the same people who can't rotate an apple in your head or imagine how you'd feel if you didn't have breakfast this morning. Nobody outside of kiwifarms is going to see a niggermarked clip, that's the point of niggermarking a clip. It's not a shibboleth, it's a deterrent.

Forensic watermarking doesn't achieve anything, the clips would still get used, nobody will notice the forensic watermark except us, and when somebody tries to call it out as a gotcha nobody will fucking care because nobody knows what kiwifarms is except the people who use it and the people who are documented on it. Nobody else cares.

The "niggermark vs watermark" debate is at its core just a question of "do you think the site should be gatekept or advertised" which is a nuanced question but if you think the site should be advertised specifically to the type of people who willingly watch this content regurgitated through the mouths of people who say "graped" and "unalived" you should probably unalive yourself.

Broadcasting the existence of Kiwifarms to people who watch youtube and tiktok because you feel bad that they can't enjoy the same freedoms you do is the exact same mentality as opening your country up to immigration.

I have been scheming on an even more complex idea where the watermark is a specific enough translucency level it can't be blurred or AI scrubbed without leaving visible traces and it bounces position on screen every frame making the AI cleaning potential even more difficult, would take much more time to render compared to standard watermarking especially at 60 FPS or beyond but it's so schizoid it would leave anyone working on removing it sinking a ridiculous amount of time in to the point of making it worthless. Plus, then the font size can be adjusted so that it's noticable even in smaller window sizes making it even harder for content grifters to mask the source with onscreen elements or the aforementioned blurring.

It is easy to just put a black or "content filled" box over it in this case. The grid of niggermarks is the best so far in terms of Total Theft Prevention.

This will cost 6 Billion Dollars and require some form of gatekeeping media uploads to prevent the easiest DDOS ever.

A Kiwifarms watermark isn't going to flood the entire site and make null make billions of dollars, but it's very clear that there's a market of people who enjoy this stuff, look at snark subreddits for the mainstream version.

Evil people win because unlike us, they don't have any value given to the world. While we work, they dilate and make friends within power structures. While we start families, they find funding. While we hang out with friends, they are protesting. When we do our hobbies, they organize.

Say what you want from bad liberal/leftist agurments, they organize, they do shit. Kicking back isn't going to work.

Precisely. This makes us as faggy as Reddit. Like nigga, we didn't create shit. We snipped a clip of a lolcow doing dumb things. The lolcow created the Kawntent. Why shouldn't it be shared with all? I generally agree, with some niche exceptions. Watermarks can be a useful, specific jab when there's a video or document we know will be immediately grabbed and spread around by the watchers.

Prime example: Null should Kiwimark the Rekieta bodycam footage.
