Should probably have added qualifiers. It's not a lot compared to the US + Allies. It's not even that much larger than Japan's, and is about equal to Japan + Korea. There's also the appalling lack of large amphibious support&landing craft. They have 8 in total. Make a guess as to what that is compared to the US. Do you think China is setting up those little sandbar airfields for no reason? They have to artificially extend their reach because their naval logistics are stuck to the mainland.
Mind you, they can't have all of their navy in a single place, since China's coastline is so extensive and there are multiple threats across much of it. Again, logistics issue. They can't strike out with anything without leaving their homeland with very little to no defense. This is the issue when it comes to having a fight against the US, especially with local non-arabs-being-arabs or, eugh, European, allies.
The short of it is that they need to continue ramping up even more, but we've seen this song and dance during the cold war with the Soviets and outproduced, outengineered, and outlasted their economy and eventual downfall because, even when cucked and facing economic burdens of it's own, the US is still dramatically overpowered. This is even assuming that China's bluster about their combat abilities is true, which considering they're not able to beat the jeets who are using Soviet and Russian equipment, is a bit of an indicator of something not exactly being right either in terms of equipment, training, or command, and considering it's a commie nation, probably all three. I'm making the assumption communists lie though, so eh-eh take this all with a grain of salt, but it's the same general information that was taught to me for national security classes
