To add slightly more detail, I believe the timeline goes like this, per Aaron:

- Chrissy Mayer asks STMS to let Nick be part of her show with Lila Hart.

- Nick, Kayla, April, and Aaron meet at the event where Nick does his ''stand-up' bit, and they exchange contact information.

- At some point they begin spending time together casually

- Eventually April start stopping by on her hunting trips, and eventually starts staying overnight

- ???

- The polycule starts with a sit down meeting where (allegedly) Nick and Kayla revealed they had some 'experience' with this kind of thing.


I am sceptical of the fact that April at the Rekieta home, alone, did not have some role in pitching the polycule to Aaron. Perhaps it came from observation of the dysfunctional dynamic in the Rekieta marriage, Nick perving out, some venting about Imholte couple troubles, we do not know.

My personal opinion is that Nick and Kayla were at least seeking some kind of opportunity to 'expand their horizons' as this was post-Hedo. Was it intentional, or di they seize on an opportunity? We may never know...

This should be clear: Bob & Celeste were NOT the temporary foster parents. Shari (Kayla's mom) and Dan Sletta (Kayla's stepdad) are generally believed to have been the temporary foster parents. They were already foster-certified. Kayla has several foster siblings.

I believe this fact has been confirmed by Nick. Regardless, we know Bob and Celeste visited Ireland, England, and St. Petersburg (where they live) during the 6 months the kids were fostered. They may have been granted access to the kids, but they were not fostering them full time.
