Regarding the 'why', I am not sure but I have two competing theories:
- My "gif-galleries" where I put multiple gifs in one post could probably be tiresome for mobile users thus banned cuz spam
- Fighting with Ass to Ass. I cannot quite what was said but it did get spicy (for clarity, not suspecting you of reporting me, @Ass to Ass )

Spamming will get you swept up yeah I've seen you get head-bopped for it a few times, if you're a goodboi and apologize maybe they'll let you back in after a while in the shadow realm, enjoy chyatjail, roninchild.

I filtered out catbox gifs on the chat page with uBO because the shit starts lagging once enough are on screen. Firefox and hardware acceleration has always been spotty.

One thing which would be based to have would be automatic gif compression.

The filesize is often so needlessly bloated and compressing it makes it a 7th of the original size with meager loss in quality unless u push it.

I'd say the best route is animated webp. They're easy to convert from gif with ImageMagick.

You get a much bigger range of colors than what gif provides too.
