Team Fortress 2 Community - A free-to-play dress up game for grownups, gameplay fully automated! Waiting to be mercy killed...

tf2 is proof that esports fags ruin every game they touch, if i had a successful game, i would just do the oppisite the "Comp" players would want me to do. and if smash bros community is anything to go by, most esports players are closeted homo's/dengerates
I generally have no problem with compniggers, but do with the devs shitting up the game because of their autistic screeching.

to be fair, compniggers are VERY loud and annoying. like imagine if valve got rid of comp mode and brought back quick play, all the comp tf2 soytubers would be having a tism fit to the max.

IMO, the only thing that's left for Valve to do on TF2 is restore Quickplay, delete Competitive, and do a final balance pass on the weapons.
I will still remain hopeful for a quickplay revival, no one thought valve was gonna unmute the f2ps but they did; and the discourse around that was as strong as it is around quickplay. :optimistic:

In the case of TF2, not caring about their stance feels like the right play.

The fact that 6v6 and even Highlander were popular way before official in-game acknowledgement in the form of competitive mode shows there were people who genuinely wanted to explore the format and found joy in tryharding/optimizing the game. There's nothing inherently wrong about this in itself.
Added bans to weapons perfectly fine in regular gameplay (and to some extent also mods that are legal on your average server), despite being controversial from the game's perspective, ultimately did nobody any harm, so long as it was the will of that niche community and it remained a rule within said niche.
Where they went wrong is with their inability to admit that... they are a niche. Majority of the playerbase would rather queue to some server and play with whoever they want, whatever class they want, however they want, etc. They aren't some untapped future community prospects until they themselves decide that they want to pursue this venue. Until they step their foot into 6v6 or HL or whatever competitive format you want to put here, they are playing a fundamentally different game - one that was there from the start.

Competitive scene for this game in itself wasn't a mistake, and most of the people playing competitively aren't to blame. It's the screeching insistence of the loud minority that their self-made format is what the game should be, which was directed at TF2 developers who, at that point of time, probably hardly resembled the original team who designed the game, meaning they had little tie to the original notions and design choices. That was what caused problems.

On top of that, now we live in a time where the chunk of players that hadn't experienced more casual-centered game that TF2 was in its glory years is not insignificant. Them not knowing what it was like before makes it hard for anyone to convince things used to be better.

If you had a successful game, where both casual players and more competitive ones had equally good time, you would end up using winrates, results and other statistical factors as your most unbiased possible source of information - DotA 2 is an example of this even now, though moreso back when IceFrog was taking care of the game.

Not to say you were implying this, but I don't think TF2 can fully return to its carefree days as a casual game. No matter how many things Valve decides to go back on, how many mistakes they end up correcting or reverting, there's people convinced that what we have right now is good and should be appreciated more. While some would inevitably get convinced by the quickplay system returning after some time using it, what's probably more likely is another screeching presence clamoring for casual to be brought back.

Quickplay might be the least terrible solution to the problem at this point, but the crux of that problem will still remain and getting rid of it feels borderline impossible.

All the compniggers had to do was stay on their side of the game, but they just had to touch the casual water fountain and contaminate it with their dirty comp hands.

*taps the sign* COMPNIGGERS SIT IN THE BACK OF THE BUS!

It is suspected that Charlotte (Grant) Fosgate, a "notable" Sonic modding community figure and groomed troon, killed themselves because they were called a slur in TF2. The comments are exactly what you'd expect them to be. I don't know how to properly archive a Twitter post with replies included, so help with that would be appreciated.

I can't get them hosted here at a readable quality, so here are some links to screenshots.

Did xey/xhem actually do a 41% Kermit die or they just attention seeking?
They did successfully ack but their Twitter history does imply they have attempted in the past or wished to do so.

They even tried to swing from a ceiling fan when they were younger too.

There are still a lot of questions about this guy, in particular how he was groomed to become part of the cock chop club and who in particular may have pushed him to take a long walk off something short. He was a Sonic game modder and a lot of those people do end up with she/her as their pronouns on bio, of course this one is now was/were.

Their home life, or something was very fucked
He was a Sonic the Hedgehog modder, so he had a touch of the autism at the very least. Some creep older troon in that community probably groomed him, if I had to guess.
