we lost Korea, Vietnam, Syria, Iraq, and now Afghanistan
Its not a stellar track record, last real war was ww2, the rest are just conflicts with no stated goal or purpose beyond "Fuck em up"
Korea was arguably a victory--South Korea is there, prosperous, safe, and the communists are poor and mad. Communism did not spread in NE Asia, China's influence and prestige were contained, and the costs of their involvement were strategically worse than our involvement!
Vietnam sucked, we lost strategically no matter how many of those bastards we killed. Johnson is an evil retarded bastard. Sanctioning the Vietnamese for heroically destroying the Khmer Rouge on behalf of decency (and because the Khmer Rouge were aggro retard fucks) was even worse.
Syria we seem to be winning presently from some points of view, just not the Kurdish one, but there won't be a Kurdish POV much longer anyway now that the Turks (hey, they're in NATO, kind of on our side) are steering the boat. At the very least Islamic State is basically defunct, our intervention appears to have achieved its goals.
Iraq is fucked, but also, we did topple Saddam and bring the civil war to an end and repel ISIS and there is a functioning-ish state, which is more than Russia and Iran achieved in Syria, and better than before 03 probably, and a damn sight better than before 14.
Afghanistan sucked, we lost strategically just from being there, Obama, Bush, and the coterie of people who kept that war going until 2022 are monstrous.
