That whole article is damning, the party management of safety and risk, the obvious lying about the deaths, paired with the 'improving' workplace casualty numbers indicates that any reduction in workplace fatalities is just a result of not counting them.

Food for thought regarding any number from China:
China reports 108 forklift accidents in 2022.
America reports approximately 50,000 for 2021-2022.
The fucking UK reports 1300.

Having spent my whole life in a career which relies on Forklifts for material handling, and holding several training certificates as a trainer and operator, 108 accidents with 101 fatalities in a country with 1.4 billion people and massive industrial complexes stretching as far as the eye can see is fucking clown world shit.

I do not believe in chinese ability to suppress it. Not with cellphones and the general incompetence of the chinese gov. Even if they disappear the entire workforce and surrounding peasents, eventually the cleanup crew and the guards will get it, or the scroungers will try to pick it clean and develop fun new diseases

The difference is that we aren't talking about scorpions, we are talking about human beings. Human beings do have the capacity to change. If Tapper truly reforms remains to be seen, but this is at least a step in a positive direction.
