December, yes.

EDIT: Three day trial in December, but there is a pretrial thing in November. Here are the dates:

Honestly as weird as it may seem it makes sense.

Hardin has many years of experience dealing with lolcow lawsuits. I always thought he would be able to use the experience he gained from representing the KiwiFarms to allow him to be an expert on lawsuits involving retards and lawsuits involving lolcows. There is stuff he knows that no normal lawyer knows because he is one of the few lawyers with experience in this sphere.

Good for him. After all he has done for us I think he deserves to make a bunch of money off his skills and experience.

Also where did you find this out? Has it already been filed with the court or did Montegraph say it?

Do we know anything about the hows, the whys and the wherefores of this? I'd always assumed that Schneider had taken the case on a contingency fee basis, and while he gave it his best shot, it was pretty clear that defamation law wasn't really his area of expertise. We had to assume that he'd taken on the case for personal reasons -- ie, legal grudge match.

But he must have invested some time and energy in the case getting it this far. Does he get paid for that? Has Hardin also taken the case on a contingency fee basis? Will Hardin/Schneider split any proceeds should they prevail?

Also, I'm hugely interested in what all this means for discovery. Is Hardin going to be digging around in Rekieta's personal business? Lets hope. I foresee a future in which the milk flows abundantly free.

Nothing, and I assume we won't. I figure Hardin just thinks it's funny to deal with lolcows. Maybe the lawyers got to talking because of the bodycam and realized adding Hardin would be a win/win.
Montagraph did have a gofundme that went to almost 15k, so they're probably both getting paid, I guess not top dollar though.

Maybe Hardin is just sick of Nick's shit, and thinks he needs to have his skull caved in (figuratively).

I mean, the dude is licensed in Minnesota, and Nick is a stain on the legal profession there.

He wouldn't be the first person to think that.

Schneider is entitled to something. How much is really complicated and if the transfer of representation wasn't planned, the litigation over the fees in a big contingency case gets really ugly.

Here's hoping this was a pre-planned change of lawyers.

That was my immediate suspicion as well. Maybe they thought that if the current effort failed, they could go after it in discovery in Montagraph's case?

I'm also wondering whether Hardin is also looking to pick up a defamation case on behalf of the Nanny as well now?

That's one he'd seriously better hope the nanny just wants to move on, having wiped the piece of dogshit that is Nick Rekieta off her shoes. It's a lot easier to win a defamation suit when you're a totally private person who doesn't get involved in Internet slapfights.

Also remember when Monty filed suit, Nick may have been known to the local legal profession and for being a dick at local businesses, but now he's probably loathed by anyone who knows about him at all. They may have some trouble empaneling a jury.

From what I know of Mantagraph, he is a weirdo, I don't believe he is a pedo, but besides his* odd videos he used to target small creators and harass them off YT as far as I remember. Is it really a good idea for Hardin to get involved directly? Am I missing some elaborate chess moves here? Probably.
