Diseased #Comicsgate - The Culture Wars Hit The Funny Books!

Friendly reminder that Chuck Dixon works at Rippaverse. Zack seems to forget this every chance he gets, unless he's a seething faggot that is pissed at him for not doing MORE FOR HIM ON HIS SHIT BOOK!

And Matt Bahr (the artist for Rock and Roll Ninja) is doing a cover for a Rippaverse comic to be released in the future.

It's funny. All Zack or EVS need to do is ignore Rippaverse. But they must think that for some reason attacking the company/Eric July will get them sales. When all it really does is the opposite. Be it turn away from their comics or CG in general (although the slow release schedule doesn't help either).

I don't think it'll last for long. But even EVS seems to finally be understanding this a little because he's doing a new show that will just be about comics or something which will probably be taking Shane's timeslot.

Everyone of repute who was working for them now wants to work for Eric. Eric might make mid books but he knows how to get people who can make good books to work for him.

If you're still talking about Isom, his writing has improved since the first one. Also Iconic makes mid books too, if the definition you go by is correct. Hell pretty much all indie comics are mid by logic. Matt Bahr makes mid books too if we want to get technical.

Honestly I hope so.....but even if he does, is he going to stick with it? Probably not, he gets WAY too much money from super chats to just stop.

I go by the logic Eric's detractors use. Eric and Iconic are "mid" to them but most people like them even if they are not perfect.

That, I thought, was the premise of the original comicsgate movement. Mainstream comics was floundering because it had become infused with The Message, and there was an influential whisper network of gatekeeping activists.

Zack used to talk about just being a hot dog vendor, right? Not every comic needs to be a masterpiece, but if they are entertaining and free of The Message, the idea was that people would buy them. Eric sells hot dogs; it's not a high bar. What on earth happened to Zack?

I think of it like calling out IGN for giving 9/10 on absolute slop but the GOTY gets a 7/10. You have seen it happen.

Wow..... Ethan is not even hiding it anymore.
Yeah, it's interesting that he thinks this won't cause him any problems, but I guess as long as he gets superchats it isn't a problem.

More than anything I imagine they just want to work. For anyone hiring. One cover or a handful of pages every 5-6 years wasn't paying the bills.
Exactly, they need to make money and not releasing products does not work even if they are paid up front. They need the clout too.

He knows that unless something big happens, Eric will do nothing about it. Unfortunately, Juju does not seem to get that memo and harasses Eric far more directly.
