However I think at the same time these disruptive watermarks kinda go against the ideals of "archive everything". Is something really properly archived if there's a big nigger word obscuring half the clip?

Wtf is this?! Incredibly complicated and stupid. Look this is how you do it:

Step 1 Pirate Adobe Premiere
Step 2 put your video on premiere
Step 3 put an image or something overlaying the video and make it the whole duration of it
Step 4 lower the opacity.
Step 5 export in h.264 or just your average MP4

Done.

I would add the kiwifarms.net URL as an integral part of watermarks, advertise the site at the bare minimum. This doesn't exclude other words from appearing either.
