Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

I do not necessarily find this to be a point in either side's favor since aliens are weaker races and exist within a slave mindset anyways. Of course most of them support the stronger side and of course the intrepid and daring rebellion is mostly human, it would take a human to refuse to be a slave like that.
Most humans picked the Empire side. Many, in fact, fell for the Empire's human high culture propaganda. While the Rebellion could barely number in the millions or billions, the Empire's version of the Hitler Youth were in the trillions.

The Rebellion doesn't even have that many aliens in it. It's mostly a Human Lives Matter movement with Mon Calamari allies wanting good boi points.
Maybe as a proportion but that seems to be the case for the galaxy as a whole. Humans are well more than half the galactic population and exotics the rest. Another sign of human supremacy rightly recognized by the Empire

The greatness is recognized by the aliens as well; most of them who did fight in the Galactic Civil War chose the Empire, mostly because the Empire pays better. Sure, the Stormtroopers won't let aliens join them, and they probably think the aliens stink like shit, but they're willing to fork over a fortune to have aliens fighting for them. Hell, even long after Endor, you had no shortage of alien mercenaries fighting for the Empire, as Galactic Battlegrounds, Jedi Knight, Jedi Outcast, and Jedi Academy showed.

I think in the old EU the Empire Remnant at least under Daala would also allow aliens and women join the Stormtrooper Corps, and I think generally the Remnant was more open for non-humans post Palpatine.

Bit of an odd and old thing to post, but look at how the critics who love TLJ see how other legacy sequels fall short in terms of mentor figures.

Top Gun Maverick is a very B+, maybe B- film. Its shot and scripted in a way that doesn't make you hate yourself, but it offers very little in the way of elevating itself above base competence still milks the og film for cheap memberberries (but atleast understands how to milk them properly).

Basically the team behind it went to make a by-the-numbers film to entertain audiences and people who would have liked the first one, and generally succeeded.

Because of these low aims, it is also probably the best mainstream hollywood film put out like the the three years before after. It excels but only because its competition is dogshit.

So anyone performatively shitting on it without shitting on the rest of hollywood is a retarded NPC.

Tom Cruise is a nutjob but by all accounts he was the one who wanted to make a by-the-numbers "base competence" action blockbuster and wouldn't budge from that. It is the most important mainstream film of the last ~5 years because it demonstrated that Hollywood can still make a competent mainstream movie if someone powerful enough in the industry is wholly dedicated to tardwrangling the production, and it made a mountain of money doing so

also that china can go suck a nut and a film doesn't need to kowtow to the CCP to be successful by keeping the Taiwan flag on the jacket.

The fact what should be a complete dishwasher snooze of an unnecessary sequel is the best film in recent memory is the most damning impeachment of modern hollywood. The utter state of media where I see trailers for MI:8 or whatever the fuck number we're on, an action film starring a man who can get Golden Seniors breakfasts now, and I'm thinking "I'll probably do see that one".

Tom Cruise is absolutely batshit, but I guess if he's got brainworms I wish the colony would reach out so I can help infest the rest of hollywood with them.

So he ate a gas station bathroom sandwich?

They're still ass-mad that their "subversive" SW movie got ass-whooped by the fans and led to Disney Star Wars desperately fan-pandering to the point they moved in the opposite direction.

Andor fan-pandered to Rogue One fans.
Filoniverse shows pandered to TCW fans.
Rise of Skywalker pandered to the anti-TLJ crowd.
Acolyte pandered to thirsty women.
Skeleton Crew pandered to kids.

It's so hilarious it's funny.

All I know is that a lot of this contrarian bullshit is at least in part due to Ruin's wife being journoscum who had connections to other journoscum. It's also a testament to their "I'd rather own the chuds than watch things I like" that you still have them try and defend that cyclical pointless pile of garbo years later after it effectively keeled over and died. Which is a testament to its failure as a film. The Thing this ain't.

Having the film end how it started isn't smart or ground breaking. And throwing in half of Episode 6 when you got pissy that you copied Episode 5 too much isn't inventive either.

His only value was murdering Abram's career, and that's the only thing I really thank Ruin for.

Honestly in retrospect I can't blame Rian Johnson when Abrams literally gave him nothing to work with, and ending the first movie of a new trilogy on a cliffhanger was extremely stupid.

He had a blank canvas, so I actually disagree with him on having nothing to work with personally. He could have done anything with those empty boxes, having a sort of freedom in that regard. He essentially was given full control on how the story would enter its conclusion and set the stakes. However I fully understand him choosing violence.

I'd pick violence too if I was told to do the plotting and loring so that some fucking hack like Jar Jar Abrams can claim my efforts, thoughts, ideas, and struggles as his own if I succeed; or scapegoats me for 'ruining the vision he had' if I had failed. Because that was the scenario if he chose to play that game; in this respect I admire his decision to set the Amban phase-pulse blaster to disintegrate on the whole fucking thing.

And I'm not interested in you just recycling shit from Clone Wars Dave. You're just going to have Maul go against a cartoonish baby punching and puppy eating retard as the foil like you always do.
