Every time I see this I simply point out that before every war people said that the American troops couldn't win anything.
Which is why the main point i was replying to was one you weren't really making to begin with, ie: the idea i see parrotted on /k/, /pol/, reddit, etc. that westerners are too soft to win wars.

Japan did, Germany did, Italy did, in fact even Vietnam did. Granted those were more official wars and with people who had functioning brains which is a key difference.
I know armchair generaling can leave out the on the ground reality of the situation and what we're doing to people, ours and theirs, trust me
i fucking get your frustration there. But you also can't completely ignore the technical aspects of the situation. They're both real.
Having said all that
I 100% agree with your overall point that if we're going to go deal with these places we need a clear easily achievable objective and it can't be to make animals stop behaving like animals.
