Nick Rekieta is a ralphamale. And ralphamales invariably find a way to turn their smallest victories into a complete disasters. If the footage doesn’t come out, it’s only because Rekieta rolled over (like a “bish”) and plead guilty to everything. At best, Nitrous Nick will be stuck celebrating the fact that he’s down so bad that not having body cam footage released constitutes a “win”. And he’ll be celebrating it on streams he’s forced to do, to an audience he hates.

Rekieta doesn’t have one of the largest threads on this site because of his ability of capitalize on good choices and/or advantageous outcomes. Right now Rekieta has five years of probation, and as BMJ has shown, it can easily become more. No one is having a hard time milking Rekieta for lols, regardless of whether the bodycam footage is released or not. While everyone wants to strike the elusive “Mother Lode”, the truth is that sources of consistent, dependable returns are even more valuable. What I don't understand is why the county is willing to help him? He has accused multiple people multiple times of planting evidence and improper behavior, but they can't actually have done this on the footage because then he would be releasing it himself regardless of how dirty it is, he wouldn't have even pleaded guilty.

I was fairly convinced that this guy had given the county plenty of motivation to spite him, now they're trying to deny an order to do so? There has to be something greater at play here.

Either that or Nick is extremely good at portraying himself as someone who needs protecting.

The only thing I can imagine is some mix of personal favors or some reason the county doesn't want the footage out in general unrelated to nicks desires.

Maybe they know it would immediately become prime internet video material and they don't want a drug addicted child neglecting sex freak ex lawyer to become their unofficial mascot. The drachenlord effect of having their town be known for his existence.

The only reasonable assumption is that Kandiyohi County does not want the world to see how poor Rekieta was treated, I urge anyone associated with them to make a fuss, As of now I only believe Kandiyohi County is holding information back because it would be detrimental to them and if I was them I would move to "correct the record" as soon as humanly possible.

Kandiyohi was ordered by a judge to release the footage and now they're in damage control. The sheriff outright said he did not intend to comply with the judge's order until a local big law firm sent him a letter, and they have the clout in the state to actually intimidate.

We then asked the Department of Administration to rule and they also issued an opinion that the sheriff should comply. He said he would decide that to do on the 2nd.

Now, the prosecutor is jumping in to help. Seems like the county conspiracy does exist, but not to hurt that poor little crackhead.

The way you describe it actually does make it sound like the only person not corrupt was the judge lol. It's speculation fo course but doesn't sound like unreasonable speculation that the sheriff is in the elder Rekieta's pockets. If they were against nick entirely, he'd want the footage out. If they're willing to brazenly defy a court order I can only assume the prosecution thought this was an easy middle class bust and got bought out during the investigation to have a change of heart about how big a deal it was.
