Couldn't find it as a reference to anything (only thing that comes up is that very radio call), but he probably used it because it rhymes so nicely and describes what so many real people (whites) here want to do to these wild animals.

If it were a knife fight with blades that could be easily carried discretely, I'd but it down to rival gangs meeting in public to negotiate some grievance, so that the presence of so many witnesses would hopefully keep tempers under some kind of control. Given that machetes were involved, I think that this is unlikely to be the case, however.

NSW introduced legal limits on blades way back in the 90s. My dad was a firey, but he still had to have a licence for his utility knife so he could keep it clipped to his belt when he was out and about. QLD has been progressively clamping down on knife stockists and sales for the past couple of decades, to the point that many op shops can no longer legally sell anything sharper or longer than a butter knife. There are age restrictions on purchasing knives, even the crappy blunt kitchen knives at the supermarket. Banning machetes isn't remotely drastic, it's just the next step in a nationwide legal movement that started thirty years ago.

TLDR: There is a good chance that "Nigger, Nigger, pull the trigger" is a saying that dates back to at least 1956 (possibly much earlier - but I'd have to go into autistic detail). But, I can quite easily see that YoRHa is most likely correct - the simplest answer is often the correct one.


I had a quick Google myself and managed to find a couple of references.

The earliest is from an issue of the Bulletin. From the National Museum page about the Bulletin (mainly for non-Aussies who don't know what that is):

2. Nah the current system is mostly fine. Thank goodness we don't use the backwards voting system the US or UK use (First past the post)

How would that even work? Given MPs represent a distinct geographic area, you can't really pool votes together like they do in the Senate for proportional representation. The form of STV the Senate used to use where you either assigned your 1 vote to an opaque system of preference deals, or numbered 100 boxes of below the line was fucking cancerous too.

There's really nothing majorly wrong with the voting system in Australia. It's the lack of real choice and the absolute stranglehold the media has on normie minds.
