Anyways I still want to post about it, this might be a good warning to keep tabs on the tiny convention called Galactic Camp which is organized by the creator of 2 Babyfur conventions:


This was their first year of making it 3 days instead of 1. They have no mention of it being ABDL themed unlike the 2 others, most likely because it's inside of an aircraft carrier that serves as a museum.

Yet they had an ABDL Diaper changing station, in one room right next to some of the memorabilia exhibits.
God I wish I had saved the video yesterday, it has been posted and then taken down.

I'm right now scrolling through everything and finding other deleted tweets hmm.


It is amusing to see the organizer bragging about the line outside of the con in the video when it's something that was caused due to "technical difficulties"

The thread is quiet so I don't feel bad posting another minor update about DenFur's hotel situation.

As I mentioned in my previous post, this is a top 10 US con which used to sell out their room block within minutes of it opening, as well as needing overflow hotels. It has now been one full month since the room block for 2025 opened, and there's still plenty available. In fact, there's more available today than there was during my last post, meaning more people have been cancelling reservations than making them over the past couple weeks.

All the while, Denfur continues to post "oh man we're filling up so fast, better hurry everyone!" in an attempt to make it look like they aren't dying.

My understanding is that a con failing to fill a room block usually carries steep financial penalties, and can be the death knell for a convention. The fact that Denfur is run by a for-profit organization, unlike most cons, might affect the action taken in response, though I can only speculate--are they more likely to just shut it down if it's not a money maker any more? Or might they divert money from the other cons the parent organization runs in order to keep this one alive?

The con isn't until the end of August, so in theory this could all turn around, but the stark difference in demand this year as compared to the past is not a good sign. And I know that "convention sees low interest" isn't much of a story, but I enjoy watching them lie about it and I see this as a followup to all the drama Denfur has faced over the years.
