I learned about this game due to a Mega64 video ad that they put out today, and being a fan of Katamari I decided to learn more about this game, only to be surprised by the brownness of it all.
I wouldn't be surprised if it was any other indieshit game, but it's a game directed by a Japanese man with some very Japanese designs, so all the brown people come out as bizarre.

It's being published by Annapurna, which publishes a lot of woke indieslop, so they could be the ones asking for the DIE characters, or it could be the Takahashi's studio itself.
After leaving Bandai Namco in 2010, he went to live in Vancouver, and then in 2012 he moved to San Francisco where his indie studio probably is. So it could be that Takahashi has been consumed by California woke mindvirus, or it could be that some artist he hired was the one that made everything brown.

I just found it really curious considering how fucking weirdly Japanese his previous games, Katamari and "Noby Noby Boy" were.

The Katamari games are fantastic and worth playing --they current-gen remakes are almost always on sale with deep discounts-- but they are turbo autistic. The entire concept of the game is about optimizing your run to make your ball as big as possible.

Even if the games don't appeal the soundtrack can be enjoyed by anyone who appreciates comfy J-Pop.

And with that typeface it doesn't look like the proper name of the game, it looks like the proper title had some letters stolen and the remainder were hideously shuffled around.

This has none of the pleasantly deranged charm of Katamari. Somehow I'm reminded of the recent new anime by the Cowboy Bebop director, another has-been Japanese creator that jumped on the woke train recently out of nowhere.

I followed the thread we have on here for it during Validate's funding/creation. Here's some highlights, but if you're looking for a healthy dose of cringe involving this woman and her projects its the closest we have to a thread on her I believe, and whether or not there would be any whites in the game was a point of contention, the same with having a normal man in the cast. She's very much an open misandrist as well, I term I don't use lightly.

Also the white guy she added was an Italian for that extra spice.
