I take issue with her behaving the way she does for someone of her age in the zoomer-dominated FT community.
Go to any 'Emo Night' and you'll find 100s of girls like her, it's unfortunately an epidemic.
You guys just say ip2 without knowing anything about what it is huh
Considering the FT subreddit and twitter continuously begs for washed up IP2 streamers and lowcows to get put on in the tank, and Andy Dick is on this season, I'd say I'm right saying it. Letty even decided to cement it by likely contracting STDs from Chicken Andy.

The actual ip2 community exists on one forum that hates fishtank and has disavowed chicken andy for years, also many of the posters there are boomers

I'm closing in on 30 and this is exactly how I found Sam. Someone posted 2077 Paradigm shift and the Williamsburg street fashion interviews on /v/ in 2012-2013 and that's how I got into MDE.
Few hours late but wanted to throw my hat in, I'm days away from 30 and this is exactly how I found him. Was always somewhat aware of him as le funny mirror guy til his ted talk (and anime con thing) and so on from there. I'd actually largely forgotten about him after WP tanked and wasn't aware fishtank even existed until S3 because of here.

That era where Sam was living with his mother in poverty with zero success and a tiny, very niche fanbase somehow was when he was at his peak comedically. Zero production value, no scripts, living with his mother in a tiny ghetto apartment and yet he was putting out the funniest shit of his career. I think as Sam gradually began to make more and more money he started to put less and less effort into his work but that's a whole side tangent.

Yeah, this era still is my favourite of his. He's still like this (same "trolling style", silly voices and stuff) but with the whole production and with some goal other than "annoy the hell of his mother in all ways possible", gotta say i still only watch his stuff cause i know he's still like this, like "pure trolling", like you would do at school or with your girlfriend, pretending to be silly. He's funny.

Sam is one of the rare ones who don't get that gay troll remorse shit for an easy grift out.
Being raised on imageboard culture and referencing it often in his works and still staying true to he is, so many ecelebs fail this.

I was trying to think of when exactly I first saw MDE content when I realized that there may no longer be an archive of MDE videos by release date. The MDE2 channel is great and has tons of obscure gems from Sam's vertical video days, but they are mostly out of order and obviously not released on the original release dates. Does anyone happen to know if any other archive exists?
Either way, a friend sent me a vertical video in like 2012. Right around the Tech Toys era if I remember correctly.

Also, I think it's time for Jet and the crew to admit that KF has the most reasonable and well-rounded FT community. I'm fairly new to KF but I notice a distinct difference in the way FT contestants and crew are treated here vs the lolcows and real degenerates. It's clear we all really like this show.

I guess I’ll join in about the audience of Sam Hyde and fishtank and give my perspective.

As someone in my late 20s, my first exposure to Sam Hyde was obviously the shooting memes. I believe the ghost of Kiev was a rather timely way to resume that reputation before fishtank. I have seen most of season one world peace on YouTube spread out over a period of time, and could accurately describe maybe 3 sketches. But WKUK really had a stronger hold on my friend group, that was quoted and watched all the time.

But fishtank really hooked me. Season 1 I tried recommending it to some friends, and they all went “oh yeah Sam Hyde, I’ve heard of him he is funny, maybe I will check it out” and never did, and I never brought it up again. The nature of a livestream show is just too different. And then the season 1 edits sucked.

I have the habit of having something playing on one monitor while playing a video game on another, and often the one monitor is livestreams or long YouTube videos, my friends are not like that. Fishtank was a perfect fill in for that, but it went beyond where I even wanted to watch at work to not miss anything. A 24/7 stream is captivating in some way. But I think most people that really watch fishtank are people that watch livestreams in the first place, or old MDE fans, and the people that watch livestreams in the first place tend to be very parasocially attached to whatever they already watch.

I’ve posted this in the Sam thread before, but I’m one of the younger fans who found Sam through iDubbz. The video was a surreal feeling for me: I really liked and sort of respected Ian, had really fond memories of his content and was still watching when he released new stuff, enjoyed the Fatty documentary, etc. So when the scene of Ian explaining irony comes up and it’s just… not correct… I remember getting this sort of sick feeling in my stomach. Finally in the interview with Ian revealing he was doing this over a weightlifting beef I couldn’t pretend anymore, even if I mostly believed him about Sam. So when I saw the feature here about Season One, I overcame my “Nazi comedian” impulse and checked it out only to find something I’ve become obsessed with. I haven’t watched an iDubbz video except to hate watch and occasionally get sad over old content since. Meanwhile I’m here every day. Time is weird.

I was never a Sam Hyde fan. During the vertical video and MDE Youtube years I was rather offline. I think I was vaguely aware of the Adult Swim cancellation drama, but I wasn't watching much TV at the time either. I mainly remember seeing Sam's pic with Weev and being like "oh, Weev from the old ED days has a new friend. Weird." I've gone back to watch World Peace and while it's not my jam it does have a few shining moments of brilliance.

Mostly I came around to Sam Hyde as a force of internet comedy because of the Candyman era and Getting Away With It (thanks, Idubbbz!)

When Fishtank came around I saw the feature here and wondered why anyone cared. But then I was active on TPOT and started seeing the clips from the first few days shared around and was intrigued but not sold and I figured I'd just enjoy the clips. While I love internet drama and digging up dirt I think the last time I watched a stream of any kind was like, spectating on Stickam raids back in the day so I wasn't really interested in the livestream. I started watching for real to see Simmons get kicked off live, the chatter on Twitter revealing the weird books and shit was so nuts I just HAD to see it play out in real time. I'm glad I did because the whole night was the hardest I'd laughed in years, and Fishtank continues to furnish a million laughs for me.

Sam is the absolute anathema to idubbz.
Sam handled his torturous youth in the funniest possible way and continued it forward without apology.
Even this video has a rough backstory, as someone laid out in the comments. One of my favorites.

Canonically, the Custy Dash is the last thing idubbbz saw before his entire image imploded. What he never realized was that Sam was dashing to save him.
