My point is that I can't believe he would allow a video to be taken in the first place, no matter what the context. Short of him being forced at gun point or a hidden camera (which isn't the case, he clearly knows he's being filmed), he should have never allowed himself to be filmed at all.

This is sensible advice for regular every day people, there's a reason a lot of women these days do not share nudes even if they 100% trust their significant other, because shit happens and nudes get leaked all the time. Glenn is a high profile journalist with powerful enemies that watch his every move. He has written extensively on government surveillance, corruption, and blackmail, yet he still allowed himself to be filmed during a degenerate sex act. It really highlights how bad the coom must be for some people that they throw caution out the window when they 100% know better.

Oh well. I guess he's lucky that in this day and age, acceptance of degeneracy is at an all time high, so no one really cares. Yeah people are making fun of him but it will be forgotten before the day is even over.
Yeah it doesn't make sense but then again the whole rush of that kind of findom/dom/sub fetish shit is partly to literally be blackmailed so that it feels "real".

If it wasn't filmed then it wouldn't be scratching that itch for him.

There's a whole fetish in gay and straight kink/bdsm shit to be blackmailed. Presumably it gives them some sort of a rush or something and all things considered it's not the weirdest shit out there.

That operates solely on the assumption that the enemy has to obey the law.

It fails to consider what happens if he doesn't, because such a concept is anathema to polite society.

It's silly on its face if you think about it for five seconds. Why would the Devil have to obey human laws? He is a supernatural being.
This fails to appreciate the role of the Devil in the stories in which he appears and the overall point of that scene. What is the Devil's MO? Temptation, deception, trickery. The Devil tricks men into taking actions which seem like a good idea at the time, but when the long term consequences play out, cause lasting harm.

You are completely correct that the Devil is a supernatural being, and isn't bound by human laws at all. But men are. Men institute laws amongst themselves to govern their own behavior and temper their darker impulses, to set a standard for what should and should not be done, and make it harder for evil men to do evil.

Now, if the Devil wanted to bring more men under his yoke, and men obeying their own laws made that harder for him, what do you suppose the Devil might want to do? What about offering himself as a prize? All Man has to do is cut down those pesky laws that are getting in the way of bringing the Devil to justice. Pay no attention to the fact that men institute laws among themselves to protect themselves from other men who have fallen under the Devil's sway. Don't you finally want to capture and punish the fucking Devil? Do it, faggot. Burn down all your laws, your rules, your morals, your traditions. Is not the prize of the Devil himself worth it?

I just learnt about property taxes.
No state is exempt from them, and if you own land or property you have to pay something like 2.5% annual tax on it (determined by market value) or else it gets foreclosed on by the government. It might be a pedantic interpretation and so the question itself might be dumb, but doesn't that mean no American actually owns their own land/property, since property tax acts essentially like "rent" to the government that you must pay?
Can we not allow literal children on the forum please?

State governments need money. Property taxes were the oldest form of revenue for states as they could not levy tariffs nor make currency. Sales tax and income tax came later.

Property tax is one of the most fair taxes possible. Owning property is not essential as you can always rent, but somebody has to own the land, so the tax will get paid. This is different from sales tax and income tax where revenues are more correlated with the business cycle and thus we have state governments booming and busting like businesses (a very serious problem, mind you).

lol remember the tonya harding sex tape?

it was so midwestern....and not hot at all.
as it turns out those kind of leaked sex tapes are actually covered by the "private behavior being made public" argument, as a normal couple having normal sex does not make people uncomfortable or feel unpleasant. if anything, it reflects very poorly on the man or paparazzi that released the tape because it's an intrusion into someone's life that many people voyeuristically enjoy. Greenwald had to release his sniveling cope tweet because he got caught doing something wrong. that's why he was doing it in the first place

that's also the real damage that James O'Keefe hidden cam videos do. like someone earlier mentioned there's no way to know if what people are saying is true, but regardless the videos show political staffers who are willing to blab secret information in their lispy voice after someone buys them $30 waffles and an $8 mimosa. they're being caught on camera doing something wrong and it shows their true character

I will give the Indian government credit that they did something smarter then China. They largely built their economy around internal consumption. Not foreign export. Which means this idiot does have one semi correct point that the Indian economy is less vulnerable to the US or China actions. Unless of course the US cuts off or heavily taxes Remittances. Then they're fucked.
Exports are a larger share of the Indian economy (24.0%) than of the Chinese economy (17.6%).

all taxation is theft. don't tread on me

but keep building roads and maintaining utilities for me to use, please

He 100% knew he was being recorded.
He's effectively one of the eminent scholars when it comes to privacy/opsec and had and still has multiple state actors out for his head.

It's a fucking awful look and this rattles me since I thought he was "One of the good ones"

It's possible the clip got out or someone was using it for serious blackmail and he said fuck it, retweeted it and then went into damage control which was basically "yeah I'm gay and do degen shit that is legal, so what?" - if that was the case then its the most sensible option he could've taken
This isn't the case, he retweeted it without commentary and then deleted the retweet

It's very disappointing. How hard is it to not be a total degenerate? And how hard is it to not film such acts, especially when you know you're being surveilled and have people actively looking for ways to destroy you? This makes Glenn look completely coom brained.

While simultaneously locking up trump supporters over a protest even the ones who wasn't there on j6
It's amazing how for all the things Biden has done he'll mostly just walk away scot-free from any of his antics.

A nice list to showcase his actions:
1. Has public footage of him sniffing women's hair on multiple occasions but still is able to become President
2. Lets millions of immigrants (legal and illegal) into the country while cognitively in decline
3. Mismanages the Afghanistan withdrawal so badly over a dozen American soldiers die all so he can try to have a symbolic date of departure
4. Makes the unprecedented action of pardoning his own family members, including his son and relatives who weren't even accused of doing anything yet
6. Whines about unity in his inauguration speech yet makes a circus about imprisoning anyone vaguely related to J6 while ignoring activities done during the George Floyd riots

You are completely correct that the Devil is a supernatural being, and isn't bound by human laws at all. But men are.
Correction. Men are only bound by laws if other men are willing and have the power to force them to be.

This does not apply to the Democrats, as they are exempted from various law enforcement actions by virtue of the fact that a significant portion of the judiciary are run by their fellow demons, so the entire analogy falls apart.

The analogy and the story hinge on the assumption that men follow the laws when the portion of them in question do not and make it up on the fly. It's simply an irrelevant platitude.
