What is the Prosecutor trying to hide?
The prosecutor seems to be acting on behalf of the country sheriff. We don't know his exact motivation but it definitely seems like malfeasance and corruption.
Exactly why is unknown.
But now everyone has a pretty good idea of what happened.
Only in the sense that something changed.
We generally know what happened, but we don't know why. What's the motivation behind these officials conspiring to prevent the release of this footage?
1. The county sheriff was refusing a lawful court order to release the footage for some time now. He said he would decide what to do by June 2nd, now in hindsight clearly a strategy to buy time to ask the DA make a legal maneuver.
2. According to
@Null, via the volunteers, the tone of the people at the courthouse suddenly changed from friendly to cold at some point recently over the past few weeks.
3. Yesterday the DA seems to come to the rescue of the sheriff by filing a bullshit motion with the judge claiming the bodycam is not ebidence.
4. The judge rules on this motion first thing this morning in the DA's favor; the prosecutor is there bright and early.
5. Emails immediately go out from the court clerk to the kiwi frens who have been watching the bodycam video and taking notes, basically telling them to fuck off as the bodycam is no longer available to the public for review.
It stands to reason that the source trying to prevent the release of this footage is the county sheriff.
He has been stonewalling the entire time.
I'm skeptical this is merely due to the actions of Nick Rekieta alone. Although that might be part of it. We just don't know.
But the idea that Nick has been in contact with the sheriff, and that the sheriff is acting on Nick's behalf, is hard to believe and strains credulity.
It seems to me there is something more going on here, another motivation, from the police themselves, specifically the county sheriff, acting in their own interests.
We're not going to know why until someone subpoenas their communications in a lawsuit.
