Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Game is using UE5, all hope already lost.
Game’s also being developed in Boston with some aid from the Vancouver studio as well which means that the game will probably be woke given the direction CDPR has been headed over the last 3-4 years.

Besides Pawel Sasko and Gabriel Amantenglo, much of the old guard that developed Cyberpunk 2077 has left for greener pastures. Rafal Jaki, the creator of Edgerunners (the show that arguably helped redeemed the dogshit state the franchise was in then) left CDPR and is writing his own mangas and stories. One of the directors of the Witcher 3 and 2077 left to form his own studio with other CDPR devs called Rebel Wolves and they’re developing their own Witcher-tier competitor that’ll be published by Bandai Namco (and probably will receive some funding with the publisher). It’s safe to say that modern CDPR in 2025 is a shell of its former self. I hope Cyberpunk 2/Orion is good but I won’t hold my breath over it. Might as well stick with AA studios for now (like the aforementioned Rebel Wolves and their Blood of Dawnwalker game they’re making).

It’s a shame. I want more cyberpunk themed games. We had deus ex but now that franchise is in purgatory. We have a few underground hits like the System Shock remake but that’s a remake. The Ghostrunner games were real fun but very linear. Now all we’re stuck with is a more pozzed CDPR.

Sure. I’m always open to trying out some new cyberpunk games. At least to satisfy me inbetween the wait for Orion/2.
Please pardon me ahead of time if any of these are old hat to you:

-Brigador
-Cruelty Squad
-The Surge 1 and 2
-Binary Domain
-COD Black Ops III
-Syndicate
-EYE Divine Cybermancy
-F.E.A.R. is sort of what you'd get if you had cyberpunk but with psychic powers instead of bionics.
-Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon if you want something on the silly side
-Perfect Dark
-Hard Reset
-Mirror's Edge
-Shadowrun Returns/Shadowrun Dragonfall/Shadowrun Hong Kong, and the old Shadowrun games on SNES and Genesis
-Oni (old game by Bungie back from the PS2 era)
-Robocop Rogue City and its upcoming expansion
-Signalis (the devs and their fans are kinda freaks and idiots but the game itself is perfectly enjoyable and doesn't have much of anything objectionable)
-Stray if you want to play something more chill or just really like cats
-Metal Gear Rising Revengeance
-Final Fantasy 7 if you like some bigass swords and fantasy monsters with your corporate dystopias
-Uplink, still the golden oldie of hacker-type games
-Katana Zero
-Transistor
-BLADECHIMERA
-SUPERHOT (the 1st one is good at least)
-Blade Runner, obviously
-SiN
-Frozen Synapse
-Rez Infinite
-Ruiner
-Furi (great soundtrack!)

It's too late for me to edit my previous post, sooooo...

Suffice it to say there's more than even that out there but I imagine this should tide you overall for the forseeable immediate post-cyberpocalypse. ('_')b

"Psychic clones? This is why nobody takes us seriously."

You also left out The Ascent and Selaco, the former being a Cyberpunk ARPG and the latter a Cyberpunk-styled retro shooter with a lot of FEAR inspiration.

If you are a fan of traditional Pen and paper RPGs and have a few friends, then I would also recommend checking out the original Cyberpunk 2020 RPG if you REALLY want more of what the world has to offer. The Game is still being supported by the original publishers with new content and the newest edition called cyberpunk RED was released around the time when 2077 first launched. The setting of RED is set some decades before the events of 2077 though the most recent expansion that was themed to the Edgerunners anime brings it up to right before the events of 2077.
In addition to aforementioned Cyberpunk, there's also the Shadowrun TTRPG which is still very Cyberpunk if you don't mind the more fantastic elements. I have always wanted to play these TTRPG systems but I haven't found any DMs in my area who are willing to run a System that isn't D&D 5th edition or Pathfinder. (:_(

Was checking up on this thread again, mostly because I was browsing mods for Morrowind and figured I'd check 2077, and yeah 2077's modding scene is still shit. Didn't expect absolute kino to be posted here though. I am however not surprised you posted it. ;)

Fuck, you too? We (anyone here) really should host a game of 2020, been meaning to do that in between writing-may Allah forgive me for uttering this word-fanfiction (trying to write some sort of murder mystery from the eyes of a journalist/Media in way over his head) but I'm not in the position to host right now. Wonder how well a...what's it called? Post by post? QST? Whatever its called where you make a thread and have people post what their character is doing. Yeah that, wonder how well that would go, someone tried to do one but no one showed up.

This is actually the biggest indicator of how bad it's going to get. Compared to what the Canadian-American education system has been churning out the average Polish liberal is practically Heinrich Himmler. Expect a tons of really, really blatant IDpol (esp. involving trannies and muh PeeOhhCee) and a huge shift to Millenial writing.
