Blog: "These Colors Don't Run": HRC Launches Defiant Protest Campaign For Pride (archive)

The artwork for the eagle featured several subtle touches, such as long eyelashes, a harness, painted nails, and a sassy attitude. … Describing the inspiration behind the artwork, the HRC Design Team told Erin In The Morning, “… And hey — even an eagle can’t say no to a nice pedi and some lashes for the best month of the year.”
Looks like a prop from a middling sitcom joke about the US government doing a woke rebrand.

The fuck is the harness for? Fetish gear?

The funniest part of the recent dragging is it comes from a person Tony frequently fawned over.
But that was at least one personality ago, when he was 34 and in the polycule with Dylan Herrada / Eva Herrada (21) and "witchbitchaddi" (20), and going to Ekko Astral gigs with "kateisdeflate" (20).

see erin, what annoys me about this framing is you're just fearmongering without telling people the actual facts + their context, or about what they can do.

do you know how many people are actively in crisis and suicidal because of this type of low-effort framing?

its more than you think
like, be snarky all you want, but this just shows that the crux of your journalism is about scoring immediate clicks rather than doing the actual work or providing tangible solutions.

not the type of shit i stand for.
anyway, that's why i haven't pitched anything to her in ages - she isn't interested in what activists are doing or actual solutions, just about praising mediocre democrats who get her funding.

Edit, again:

is my disdain for erin reed “personal,” as some would claim? no! we did in fact previously know each other, and one of her first dates with zooey was an ekko astral show. we stopped talking when i called out inaccurate info she shared, privately, and she refused to take responsibility.

the inaccurate misinformation? oh, just seriously overstating how much the republicans spent on anti-trans ads in 2024, with numbers she borrowed from wapo without credit. on national TV. & people told me this contributed to dems thinking trans people were the reason they lost the election.

not personal! deeply professional! i don’t make friends with “journalists” who refuse to take accountability for messing up and spreading inaccurate info.

On the one hand, they're correct that Tony is a shitty "journalist" who constantly makes errors and cares only about money and reputation.

On the other hand, these guys are basically criticizing Tony for portraying trans-related isses as bleaker than they really are, which is something that has been the troon standard for years now. Also notice that a few of them randomly drag Alejandra Caraballo into their complaints.

Which makes me think that the complaining about accuracy is just an excuse. These men all hate themselves and need to constantly tear down others to avoid facing their own self-loathing. Now they're all sequestered on Bluesky away from normal people, they're turning on each other and trying to bring down any fellow troon with the slightest bit of perceived success.

(I don't think it will actually achieve much, though; Tony's a big "journalist" on multiple platforms now, and even if he's canceled on Bluesky he can survive elsewhere. Alejandro Caraballo seems far more likely to be driven to genuine madness by other troons)

I remember a long time ago on this thread a lot of people admitted they saw Tony as the most aggravating/"final boss" of troonacy for them due to his utter smugness, self-centeredness, and reach through his "journalism" (I use the term loosely here) and hoping his life would go to shambles (more than it has, natch) someday... while I just saw him as a hilarious end result and completely doing nothing but being popcorn material. Him being that level of "dangerous" (again, reeeeeeal loose wording, but you get it) felt inexplicable to me. He merely brought me smiles much the way a funny clown does for a young child.

But Alex, with his undeserved luxury life at Harvard and thinking he's far more capable and intelligent than he actually is due to it, is that particularly aggravating troon to me, so I'm really hoping that his, ahem, "chosen people" turning on him is what drives him into insanity and irrelevancy in a way that not even Nancy Mace publicly humiliating him did. Come on troons, I'm rooting for ya here! Call those greedy scumbags out! We won't tell if you gotta use some Farms material to do it!

Tony repeating “we have always been here” is giving me this vibe:

Also, #3 made me laugh out loud. Assuming every word of that is true, and said troon actually did extort an entire monarchy to get his marker changed, it just makes modern-day troons look so weak and spineless by comparison. None of them have the (figurative) balls to pull anything like that- check the numerous threads on this site to see the countless ridiculous and minor triggers that cause these pathetic invalids to spiral. Chances are, those olden-day troons would be embarrassed if they could see what has become of their troon descendants.

"who threatened to shoot anyone who misgendered him" Setting aside the possible pseudohistory, how does this paint this TIF in a good light?
It doesn’t, but they view anyone who fights for their troon identity, no matter how immoral or repulsive their methods, as valiant and meant to be celebrated.

Even with the poor quality of the photo due to its age, it’s still hilariously obvious that this is una mujer.

The soldaderas who donned male clothing and took male names often did so to protect themselves from sexual violence and high-ranking officials who resented women warriors or saw them as freaks, says Pablo Piccato, a professor of Latin American history at Columbia University. In fact, the famous general Pancho Villa fell into this category, ordering the execution of 90 soldaderas.
More here:
When she died at age 95 in 1984, at her own request she was buried in women's clothes, and her military exploits were celebrated. Since 1990 her family home in Guerrero state has served as the "Coronela Amelia Robles" museum.

Regarding the Chevalier d'Eon:
Gary Kates is the historian with perhaps the most knowledge of the Chevalier. He found there was no evidence the Chevalier wore women's clothes before 1777, when he was forced to by Louis XVI. At this point the Chevalier was 49, so way past his spying career.

Regarding Alberta Lucille Hart / Alan L Hart:
Jonathan Katz said:
It is also clear from Gilbert's report that [Hart] does not identify herself as of the male gender. She does not wish to possess a male body; she wants to play “the role of a male,” not be male. It is not the male’s penis she covets, but the male’s socially given power. Her decision as a young girl to be the “man” in the family expressed her wish to care for and take care of her own mother, another woman. In order to do this she “regarded herself as a boy’—but only in the sense of “wanting pockets on her clothes” (a poignant sign of “masculinity” mentioned twice by Dr. Gilbert), in wearing short hair and trousers, in playing boys’ games, in reading adventure stories and fantasizing herself as the romantic, dashing hero, in hating housework and “small talk,” in being inquisitive about the world, an active, “obstinate, independent child,” in having “masculine ambitions,” in loving and wanting to be loved by another female.

Most popular history articles written in recent years obviously go along with "amazing transman Alan Hart" but it doesn't take much research to find an interesting source that says something different.

Tony has most recently posted again about "Lucy Hicks Anderson", a 6ft-tall black pimp who was busted out of the town jail in Oxnard, California, by the local elite who desperately needed prostitutes for a party.

For Pride, I’m remembering Lucy Hicks Anderson, trans woman who transitioned as a kid in the late 1800s. She was an incredible socialite and cook, so much so that when she was arrested and a banker got her out of jail because they had a party and she was the cook!We have always been here.
Previously:
"She opened a big hotel" (a brothel) and when the cops arrested the 6ft-tall pimp (for falsifying his marriage certificate), the rich people in the town demanded he be released because they needed prostitutes for their party. :story:

It's not disputed that Anderson was a pimp who owned a brothel, and a lot of pro-transgender articles seem to think it's a true "girlboss" thing to do (sex-trafficking women). Various articles that mention him being a pimp: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.

Alan Hart and the Chevalier d'Eon were transgender tho. Hart is remembered for being one of the first medically transitioned transmen. Trans stuff was called "Eonism" in the 19th century.

I don't know anything about any banditos.
No, they were not. Troonery cannot exist before the modalities that facilitate troonery were invented. Those did not arrive until the 1930s. At best they were transvestites.

"Eonism" was a term invented by Havelock Ellis in the 1920s, because he thought Magnus Hirschfeld's use of the term "transvestism" did not adequately convey a meaning of cross-dressing without an obvious sexual motive. He discusses this in the first part of Studies in the psychology of sex. Vol. VII, which you can read online for yourself.

Hart is starting to get to the period of time, from roughly the 1920s or 1930s, where modern transsexualism begins, so it's possible that Hart would have — if asked in today's terms — consided herself "transgender". But the evidence does not support much more than Hart being a butch lesbian, as you'll see if you read the post I quoted earlier. As for "medical transition", Hart had a hysterectomy because she did not want to become pregnant. Some articles (from the past 10 years or so) claim that Hart took testosterone to appear more masculine, but without citing any sources. (Testosterone was approved in the US for medical use in 1939, and Hart died in 1962 aged 71, so it's possible but, again, no proof.)

If you come to the thread and want to claim a historical figure was "transgender" as we now understand the term, you should come with more than just an assertion.
