It's because the organizers are greedy and now that corporations aren't whaling out for these events anymore their income has dried up. Look at what they want companies to pony up for the privilege of being at the event:

If their sponsor prices are the same as last year they made something around $450k.
It's just too expensive for a small local business to ever want to bother with, only the big corpos ever did it and now they're all gone from Pride shit.
