The Boys - An Amazon Prime adaptation of the Ennis comic series

Everything they do is supposed to make you hate Homelander. But the people behind this shitshow are unironically evil, so a villain to them is a hero to everyone else.
We’re going to watch the next series, watch as they try to make us think Homelander is evil, and walk away thinking “maybe the government should be putting its enemies into camps.”

The sycophants claiming critics "don't get it's mocking them", themselves fail to realize the show's celebrity hero worship satire applies most to their democrat idols. The Fauci songs and Obama-as-Jesus candles are crazier than anything Trumplander can be nailed for. The very premise of the series is hardcore projection.

Yeah I'm sure Starlight will totally have a chance at dying, especially with how she's your mouthpiece Kripke

Seriously I won't be surprised if Kripke acts like this on set around her actress

But the existence of Compound V being public makes no sense at all. Every single person on Earth and every government would literally descend on Vought's labs and facilities looking for a dose to inject themselves. People break into stores to steal televisions or sneakers. But not a serum that turns you into a god? The world building on this show, and most of the comics, is atrocious.
This reminds me yet again, why if you are going to go completely off the rails as far as ignoring the source material, have some fucking GOOD ideas that expand and explore it instead of throwing a tantrum that your political party didn't win the White House.

Ideally, you should have all major multinationals and every mad scientist or geneticist worth their salt trying to create their own version of Compound V or finding ways to create high tech weapons to compete with Voight's super heroes. And when Compound V is made public, create a huge shit storm as people, especially the rich and powerful wanting their own powers and creating a double standard type deal with the poor being pissed that the rich and powerful now have super powers and the poor can only get them by literally being sold off to Voight as babies to be injected with it and then having themselves and their parents basically be slaves to EvilCorps and be threatened with imprisonment by them if you don't do as you are told (or get shitty powers from the roll of the dice power generation procedure).

Same with Soldier Boy. In a better show, the Boys/Soldier Boy depower Homelander THEN you have Soldier Boy go full evil, kill Mother's Milk, and reveal how he played the Boys like fools to help him depower the only man who could stop him (and reveal that he lied about HL being his kid) and give fans who like Homelander a redemption arc with him working with the Boys to stop Soldier Boy, who starts gathering an army of super powered beings to take over the country no matter who wins the election.

The sad thing though is that the TV show went so utterly full retard, that any further adaptations will probably stick closer to the comic purely out of spite rather than actually taking the comic (which has a LOT of flaws to it) and legit fixing it in a non-TDS way and expand the lore and world in interesting ways.

Assuming they stick with Butcher as the final boss purely for a twist and to "subvert" everyone calling them out on trying to make Homelander the final boss out of TDS, I can see Butcher murdering Starlight to set up Butcher as beyond the pale evil in the final episodes. But that gives them too much fucking credit.

Butcher would be the greatest character in this show for simply doing that, but I bet he'd kill Hughie and Starlight kills him.

Like I am strongly confident Starlight and Ryan are going to survive the series

Aren’t those the only two who aren’t complete assholes?
Starlight is a total piece of shit. Season 4 nuked her character beyond repair with the Firecracker retcons and victim-blaming Hughie for getting bed tricked. But the decay was already setting in when she blackmailed a former friend to steal some V, killed a guy to take his car, and blasted Hughie (literally) for trying to not be useless.

I mean among the main group, only Starlight and Butcher are the biggest douchebags. Except Butcher is intentionally meant to be seen as a jerk while Starlight is meant to be seen as a moral paragon given how she's the soapbox for Kripke's political opinions.

The worst you could say about everyone else on the team is that they're just moronic at times.

I've noticed a subtle metaphor during the last season, you have to pay close attention to catch it. I think Homelander is supposed to be a reference to US President Donald J. Trump. Blink and you'll miss it.

It’s considered by many that the Babylon Bee is a lame version of The Onion in it's "golden age" but I think whoever runs the "Vought International" Twitter account is on an even lower end of the totem pole.
