IIRC blood borne diseases are not transmitted between mother and infant inside the womb, but from being exposed to the mother's blood and other bodily fluids during the birthing process. the CDC recommends the first Hep B vaccine within 24 hours of the baby being born so it's likely the vaccine can win out if it's administered close enough to exposure

no, it's on the recommended list from the CDC for ALL children (yellow). that's where the controversy comes in. why is a vaccine that could be administered based on risk factors and testing being recommended for all children?
