Wendigoon Thread

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
This is one of the worst things he did, a full on "this is your brain on Reddit". Basically taking autistic spergs who use an over the counter medicine compulsively as "proof" it is addictive. No fucking shit you start damaging yourself at some point from this behavior. There's nothing surprising here, and taking a drug for more than a week rather than going to a doctor is absolutely retarded. Ditto trying to equate quitting the drug use with going cold turkey.

It's the same line of thought as needing to label video games for addiction.
From the vid, it seems like he's overly sympathetic to the plight of these people because he has/had a family member who uses/used to use the stuff compulsively. With that said, of all the scummy things pharma companies do (and of all the OTC drugs with potential for surprisingly dangerous/addictive outcomes) this seems quite minor—and I fail to see what they ought to do to alleviate the issue beyond making the label's warning text larger/more noticeable.

I actually interpreted it as Wendigoon being the one who was addicted to OTC nasal sprays.

Anyway, the reason the vast majority of OTC nasal sprays are addictive, isn't due to some evil Big Pharma conspiracy - it's just that daily usage of steroids (which is an ingredient in nearly all nasal sprays - both over the counter and prescription) will 'cause ones' body to build up a tolerance. I believe the standard protocol for steroid usage is to discontinue after 2 weeks (unless directed by a doctor). Stopping the steroid nasal spray after months of use will cause an inflammation rebound - making the congestion worse (steroid rebound is a common issue with topical steroid creams used to treat conditions such as eczema - which is why oral, non-steroid eczema treatments have been slowly becoming more common).

The more I think about it, the more I feel like Wendigoon "believes" in Christianity like I "believed" in DC Comics as a teenager. He knows all the stats on the characters and can reference specific issues, and will even get into a shouting match with you if you say your religious figure can beat up his religious figure. But at the end of the day, he's not going to cut ties with you even if you parade his religious iconography around in a jar of human excrement because, "It's just Superman, dawg."
I said the exact same thing about three months ago and Redditors, sorry, "Kiwifarmers" were very upset with me for saying that Isaiah may be a little lukewarm with his faith.

I would never say that a Christian shouldn't be friends with sinners, but I do think a line has to be drawn somewhere. Personal friendship is one thing, but openly associating and working with Hunter, MoistCr1tikal/Charlie (who actually worked with a porn company to make a porno), Donut Operator (a cuck with an OF whore girlfriend) plus taking sponsorship money from a literal porn company blashpheming the Bible (Adam and Eve) shows where I think Isaiah's true values lie. I don't think any doctrinally informed Christian can be a libertarian ethically, but I think there's a difference between adopting a live and let live mentality on the political level as opposed to one's personal conduct. Not to mention the pigshit ignorant stuff Isaiah said about Catholicism on Pain Killer Already - side note, one of the hosts is a tranny chaser. I don't know why Isaiah runs in circles where these types are so common, but probably explains his obnoxious Reddit troon fanbase.

I knew Isaiah was lost when he said he "wasn't a conservative". Christianity is socially conservative in the modern age by definition, and I think it was a cynical move so as to not alienate his soyboy fanbase. It probably pisses me off because Isaiah gives the public a false impression of the faith plus cements the sentiment that authentic Christianity is anethema in the public sphere.

Edit: Haven't watched Creepcast the past couple of months with the execption of the Borrasca V episode, I've seen some referenced on here that Hunter has said some blashphemous stuff recently. Anyone got a timestamp or can remember off the top of their head?

Sadly, I think many Christian creators realize that as Christians, they can only go so far/they must ignore and/or abandon their values to achieve mainstream success. They either accept they are in the minority/try their best to court an audience that isn't full of libhsh!ts...or they sell out. There just isn't that many devout Christians nowadays to grow huge numbers via their viewership alone.

As much as I love Lore Lodge (which is run by devout Christian Aiden Mattis) - it probably won't ever reach the streaming numbers as say, the "Lights Out" podcast - which is run by 2 Colorado stoners who founded a CBD vape company.

The problem is that you either have over the counter drugs and expect people not to abuse them, or you make it like any other drug and then people need to go a doctor for a dose, which is both time consuming and potentially expensive.

I have no idea why people keep using it regularly rather than see a doctor, and blaming it on some nebulous drug companies making it addictive is just retarded.

I'm only an occassional Lore Lodge enjoyer but I do like Aiden as well - I think he's the best openly Christian Youtuber whose content is secular that toes the line between his values and the nature of the modern Internet as skillfully as he can. I remember during one of the JonBenet Ramsey streams he commented on Steve Thomas's investigation into a prostitution ring, and had to make a point that his focus was on corruption in the Boulder PD whilst not condoning "sex work", as thinking prostitution is immoral and unsavoury is controversial in particularly braindead leftist circles.

The only controversial take would have been "this is why so few drugs are available OTC; people can't read, QED and checkmate libertarians." (Not my personal viewpoint, just a missed opportunity.)

Oxymetazoline is a tiny thing to lay in the puddles of blood already at the feet of Big Pharma, but the phenomenon is moderately interesting, and maybe the episode served as a bit of a public-service announcement for the people to whom it was news.

There's another missed opportunity, if the goal was entertainment: they could have discussed the people who do what William S. Burroughs called the Chinese cure: refill the bottle of Afrin with saline when it's half full, and refill it again with saline when that's half full. I think there were even some online stores selling pre-diluted oxymetazoline spray bottles for that purpose. Anyway, it'd be some pictures to show on the screen.

I'm surprised in the video Wendigoon didn't also go into Neti Pot usage, considering they're touted as a sinus congestion "cure all" by hippies, despite Neti Pot effectiveness being iffy, & routinely giving people a fatal case of brainworms (heck, I think someone died of Neti Pot brainworms just this week!)

I don't take wendi's content that seriously, from a Christian perspective I really liked his videos on Dantes divine Comedy and Paradise Lost/Regained, those felt very genuine and respectful. I know a lot of creators on YouTube that are Christian and libertarian, pretty sure it's more about the laws than the morality of libertarianism by itself.
Don't know about donut or the others but Hunter just seems like a dumb hicklib.
Charlie is incredibly unlikable to me, just fake as fuck.

Lore lodge is kino YouTube. It's really nice to see someone making content that isn't going to say stupid shit that politically obnoxious. He did say that he fought a nazi once in college (I'll believe he spared with a groyper or a guy that made one too many holocaust jokes. I don't think he fought a nazi in Pennsylvania or wherever) but other than that he seems cool. He just seems like a normie con to me but he sticks to the content and works hard and I appreciate that.

MoistCr1tical gives me the heebie jeebies. Not really sure why; perhaps 'cause he looks like a generic 'meth'ed up hobo begging for cash on a highway exit ramp (...is that a thing only in Oklahoma?) I can't say I've ever enjoyed his content, he's waaay too smug, and despite his smugness, he frequently dishes dumb takes full of factual inaccuracies.

I'd watch sooo much more Youtube, if content creators just focused on making regular content, instead of going off topic to dish their political libsh!t hot takes. I was watching a Spongebob nostalgia video recently that did that - like, why? What about Spongebob from 2002 pertains to Biden/Trump in 2024? Just talk about fucking Spongebob, leave your political 'sperging to Bluesky.

i mean they do work, but you gotta use at least filtered water, but ideally distilled, which most people dont do for some reason

Lore Lodge got a lot better, and now it's legit one of the best 'True Crime' channels in terms of diligent research. I can't wait for the Jean Benet Ramsey series to wrap up, because I know he knows that the most likely explanation is a cover-up for some type of CSA going down.
Also, he used to be a boxer and did box some skinhead in college. Probably more a edgelord punk than Aryan Nation, but that is real.

I think I said he's a little spergy and know-it-all-y but I don't say that as a bad thing. I'm not always interested in what they're covering but I always enjoy the stuff I am interested in and I appreciate that he's willing to go "No, you're retarded" and proceed to explain why someone is retarded without turning it into a clickbait dramafarm flamewar. He just goes down his checklist without making a big deal about it

For me it is a mixture of legit ignorance, the inability to accept being wrong, and acute manchildness. But his biggest sin is he has no passions or beliefs of his own, the man is built by internet concensus. Which means his ending will just be him fading away instead of burning out in spectacular fashion. So there is no reason to watch him either as a creator or a lolcow.
Nice to see people stanning Mattis, because the thread previously gave me the impression that nobody here liked him. Not that it matters in the grand scheme of things but I like his content and I think he's a nice young man so I want him to do well.
He is alright, it's just there isn't much to write home about. Which isn't a bad thing, most of my favorite youtubers fly under KF's radar. And it is probably better off that way instead of having farmers dig up dirt and speculate endlessly about their personal life and beliefs like we do with Wendi.

To be fair, when he started to come up he got a little big for his britches and rubbed some people the wrong way with his sometimes cringe attitude. But he has since calmed down, became more professional, and the quality is top notch.

Wendi just dropped a video on Wendigang about the Wonderful Company and water hoarding.

I wish people wouldn't make videos on California water issues; they never manage to get it right, simply because there's 150 years of fuckery to research and present and it can't be done in a 30 minute video.

I like Critical's stuff from way back when he played weird games and said dumb shit, and I was also a teenager. I tuned out way before the boring facecam stuff.
Something something you either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain (I feel the same about mutahar and his ol’ creepypasta, dark web, and LSD dream emulator vids/other LPs when compared to his modern sloppa drama vids).
