The Critical Drinker

I wonder if he'll change his mind again about Prey since the director for that movie is doing the next Predator installments.

I don't hold his opinions with any special regard, and him praising Prey was one of those reminders that I shouldn't. That movie sucked, and for a guy that tries to operate on arguing logic and "good writing" like MauLer, he's sure willing to throw that aside when it's convenient.

His more recent videos have come across as grift-like where he's just trying to stick his fingers in every pie and see which ones give returns, like that Warhammer video from out of nowhere.

He's getting criticized in the comment section for either taking so long to cover Sinners or ignoring the progressive "messages" of anti-white and anti-Christianity rhetoric in it.

I think the thing I find the most interesting about CD is while I sometimes agree with what he says his way of expressing his own viewpoints and opinions are limited. Hes just stating the lingo and rhetoric internet circles use. I mean we know what "woke" or "slop" are, actually attempt to go into detail as to how it contextually applies to each movie or show you invest in. But I don't think he can because his vocabulary or critical introspection is again, limited. On the /tv/ board on 4chan I once stated this and another theory that may as well be true: CD is someone who frequents that board and just parrots all of the things people used to say there. Which again, works for him and is the persona hes built up.

"why would there still be pride flags and murals standing after the apocalypse"

dumb motherfucker it's 20 years later which is not long enough for the buildings to collapse and the cheap nylon flags (least the indoor ones) to crumble to dust, why wouldn't they still be around? what is far more bizarre is the not-hideous/hideous lesbo couple finding a "jug of milk" from a dilapidated store which made my jaw drop

a: even with working refrigeration (impossible) the milk would have its own social structure by that point, you wouldn't feed it to a dog
b: hard-to-find resources like this wouldn't be discarded, they definitely magically found it in an abandoned building, and to further the nonsense ellie and dina scavenge for medications and antibiotics which wouldn't have been manufactured for decades either and would also be worthless due to age
c: even dehydrated milk powder (which does not come in "jugs") has an 18 month expiration date and would be useless, i googled this like a gigantic autist, thanks for doing this to me twinker

d (most important): you are one fuckin STUPID and talentless bog nigga and the booze is no excuse, this whole show is stupid as fuck trash for niggercattle but you somehow picked out the one thing to bitch about that wouldn't detract a whole lot as the characters do not get political about the flags and fittingly do not even understand the meaning behind them, it fits the post-apoc genre as they are traversing the decadent ruins of a western liberal metropolis

TCD literally just saw pride flags and had a kneejerk reaction (or hoped his audience would) even after he beat off to two ugly gay men buttfucking and said it's great tv, i am just flabbergasted

Or write good books for that matter.
He doesn't need to do any of this because he can keep making videos like "2025 Remake of the Smurfs ruined by WOKE NONSENSE".

The setup is this:

1) watch some TV targeted towards children / teens
2) complain that it doesn't have sophisticated themes, or point out technical oversights / plot holes in what's supposed to be "light entertainment"
3) say how "wokeness" has ruined everything

then, stack up 3 million views on Youtube, take the payola and do it again.

Ever notice how Drinker and crew always complain how terrible all the Hollywood slop is, yet they're unable to produce anything themselves? If making movies and books is as easy as Drinker says it is, him and his crew would all have awards and top shows. Instead, they don't, and they are reduced to whining on YouTube about the latest He-man remake for eternity.

Why does he say "the message" and not woke when it means the same shit?
Because Drinker and the EFAP crowd have moved the woke goalpost after getting called out for having no issues with GOW R race-swapping Norse deities, praising that TLOU S1 episode with the same-sex couple, and giving the Amazon Fallout show a pass for butchering the established lore when they didn't do it for Rings of Power.

I don't disagree with you, but critics exist for a reason, even if some are annoying. This is like saying that I can't criticise a chef's cooking unless I'm a chef. I don't need to make my own movie to know certain movies are shit and the plot would be better with this or that change.

It had anti-Christian themes, but the main villain got killed literally after mocking God and a Bible verse. It was 100% unintended but it ended up being pro-Christian and based.

Problem is, if they were just critics that would be fine. But each lf these dinguses always gives the vibe off "muh can do bettah! Listen to meeee!" and they never able to prove that they can do better.

Why does he say "the message" and not woke when it means the same shit?
Because he's a fence sitter who doesn't want to turn off guys like Mark Millar and Mauler (the fat fuck). "The Message" means whatever you want it to mean, and if pressed he can just say he's against bad writing.

He ripped off Supervoid's Superman Lives video, releasing it exactly two weeks after theirs. And he only criticizes easy targets and will change his mind on something if he sees it's popular, like Andor.

Oh fuck. Send in the evidence. Now we have to add plagiarist to his list of hypocrisies and horrific deeds.

Sure, but their approach is the equivalent to going to dine every day in a dingy elementary school cafeteria and complain bitterly about the food, saying how anyone could do better, and then returning again and again to the same location while also bitterly complaining. It's like he sets up his own bear trap and falls into it over and over again. I don't think it's actual criticism -- it's more like rage bait.

But the Drinker IS making movies and writing books. Huge difference. It's not some normie critic.
