This thread is right on the verge of making me cry and I JUST did my makeup. I must be strong.

The suicide note is self centered and his final action was but I still can't help but feel sad by this. For his kids, left without a father. His parents, left without a son. Plus the dog, left without an owner and forced to go to a shelter and be emotionally scarred, even if the dog had no clue what happened. This is so fucked up. I miss my dad, but atleast he didn't choose to go out. The pain from his loved ones will last decades. My deepest condolences.

There are signs I drive by on my way to work that say "don't kill yourself" and "killing yourself only passes your pain onto your loved ones" which I think about alot.

I have never once heard of a psychiatrist refusing treatment because of high blood pressure. They are doctors and there to treat illness.

A psychiatrist can refuse to see a patient if the patient’s blood pressure is high to the point of it being acutely hazardous to their health. Docs send patients to the ER from their practice all the time because a PCP or psych is not necessarily equipped to treat a pressure of say 180/100 or whatever it may have been. A medical doctor can’t sit there and talk about muh depression when they know a more important issue, the blood pressure, can cause issues earlier.

Also if he was there to refill Adderall the psych can definitely say no as it’s their ass if they give amphetamines to a guy with high blood pressure and he strokes out.

Don't feel too bad. Even if he didn't shoot himself with his hipster pistol, it's not like he would have been involved in his kids' lives anyway. I'm sure he'd expend way more time and effort trying to weasel out of child support than he would trying to be a parent or fighting to get visitation.

Knowing your own dad shot himself rather then even try and stay in your life is pretty fucking bleak though. Like that's something you never get over and are scarred with for life. Even if Richard was a horrible father they have to now life with that trauma for their entire lives.

Rekieta's kids are similar, the oldest ones seem to act more like parents to the younger ones than their actual parents do. They're already better adults than their father was, hopefully they will keep being good people and have happy lives even without having had a good example.

At least the ones that got taken off to Canada with their mom probably won't be too shook. The ones too young to remember him would probably be better off believing whoever their mom was with now was their father.
If Lowtax was still around, he'd be shorting his child support payments for Goldbelly pies and mangosteen juice.
