If they were actually planning on giving their cut to charity then they would have been open about receiving the cut in the first place. I'm trying to picture the scenario where CC3 was successful, $1,000,000 in profits were made, and then they come out and announce that they are donating their $340,000 cut to charity. People wouldn't be outraged in the way that they are now, but they wouldn't be impressed or grateful either, they'd just be confused.
