King of the hill appreciation thread - Yup.

And Bill looks very happy and content with the ease of gluttony in the modern era, which is very fitting. Never forget what he said to Boomhauer once in Season 6 back in 2002:

If they make an episode where he's a lolcow, I hope they use this for inspiration:

That scene is one of my favorite in the show, Bill deserved better

Please do.

(CN deserves their own thread in "Communities")

Seems to me like this was probably mutual combat of some sort, given the facts that:

A) the police have said it had absolutely nothing to do with the voice actor's sexual orientation or other characteristics, they usually don't comment that quick so it must be pretty fucking obvious.
B) all indications are that this dude was a terrible fucking neighbor who caused much consternation with those he lived near.
C) all indications are that he was feuding with multiple neighbors, not just the one who shot him, and they'd threatened eachother before.
D) he and his "husband" [pooner so straight with extra steps] were both apparently deranged/retarded meth heads who burnt their house down trying to heat it with a barbecue grill. [Hank would be disappointed]
E) he'd exhibited a shit-ton of very unstable behavior in recent weeks and someone in this state is far more likely to get into a confrontation.
F) it's rumored that Joss himself was armed with a firearm.

Seriously, some of his neighbors said that he'd run up and down the street at 3AM banging pots and pans together. This guy was basically a fucking time bomb waiting to go off and it seems to me like he fucked with the wrong guy at the wrong time. Neighbor disputes can easily result in homicide when you live next to someone who drives you fucking nuts and there's no escape from it. Recall to mind that dude who shot that couple with the autistic kid over a dispute about shoveling snow a few years back, then domed himself. They thought they could run their mouths at him and aggravate him forevermore and nothing would happen, then both of them are laying in the snow with their wigs pushed back. I don't know anything about the guy who allegedly killed Joss but given how unstable Joss was, I'm inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt and say he probably had a good reason to shoot him.

However that isn't going to stop Redditoids from making him the next Matthew Shephard [who actually got killed because he was hooked up with tweakers not because he was a faggot] or that one guy who got outed and offed himself [Tyler Clementi IIRC]. They'll gladly soapbox on any still-warm corpse they can find, they don't give a shit about the truth of the matter. Exhibit A was Uvalde, before the mound of corpses even reached room temperature and the blood dried they were already pumping out narratives. I think it'll end up being one of those "well someone's dead so we had to book him" type cases where it plays out that it was self-defense from a deranged meth-head.

Joss himself appears to have been an unreliable narrator and his pooner "husband" is also an unreliable narrator. With how quick that 'statement' came out, I'd think she wrote that shit up before the paramedics even called it and got the coroner on the fucking phone.

Agreed fully. One thing I will give credit to the Pooner for, she wrote on Joss’s Facebook there’s no need for a Gofundme and they’ve got the money for funeral arrangements.

I totally assumed this would be a full grift and she’d try to bilk the cartoon nerds and LGBTs out of money.

He's definitely pathetic at times but he has some positive qualities.

All four of the guys seem to treat high-school as their "glory days" but for Bill it's sad seeing that part of his life and then him in current day.

I don't know if she's ever on the show but... man I hate his ex-wife Lenore, she really hurt and messed him up

you're supposed to hate her, and they did a fantastic job
She isn't a good person at all as Lenore is a unfaithful narcissist.

I hope Bill at least makes some progress in the new season emotionally and is shown as being less depressed, considering the whole "dress" episode. It would be disappointing from a writing standpoint to see him permanently stuck in that state.

The death of a voice actor feels like an ill omen for the future of the show. There's no way its going to even come close to the original, and given its on hulu/disney, I'd bet it's going to be charged with pozzed loads.
I'm already expecting Luanne to literally be written off as a victim of covid. Something off screen is going to be done to keep her gone.
That’s not a slight at the dude, he gave a good performance. But the dude wasn’t a star of the show. When Brittany Murphy died it was sad because she was young, pretty, and her performance of Luanne is a 10/10 one of the best VA performances of all time. Jonathan Joss was just a working actor who landed a few gigs.
Not to mention, Brittany overall was more enjoyable to be around. She made a lot of friends and was missed by many, both coworkers and fans alike. Compare that to Jon Joss, whose existence was forgotten up until this year, and has only been brought back to light because his manic pooner husband screamed into the void for redditors to come swing their social justice boners and find something to help fill their parasocial needs.

Jon's death will not be remembered for who he was in the end, but instead for the fact that he was a troubled man, whose delusions were enabled by his testosterone-addled pooner husband into thinking the world is out to get him for being a fag, when in reality, it was all in his head, something even he acknowledged.

I think it makes sense that they write her, Lucky, and Gracie off by saying they moved to Montana to take care of the Platter Ranch.
Again there’s just no way to replace Murphy’s voice. She had the most range of any performer on the show and that says something when KOTH had great voice work.
