Oh yeah the DOD put out the new Peace Through Strength ad with Pete and Trump talking over it. No Emma and her gay moms. Raw power and showcasing a lot of the new tech.
Kino.
Only thing I take issue with is the electric tanks actually have utility. One of the ways guys in the trenches know some shit is coming your way is loud as fuck diesel engines coming at you. Electric/hybrid stuff wouldn't give that warning. Also in an armor-on-armor engagement, being able to kill your engine to listen for your opponents without losing any capabilities would be huge.

But we're like 10-20 years from that being viable and those are not the reason faggots are trying to force this shit down the militay's throats.

Additionally, complicated and expensive parts aren't good for battlefield longevity if things really got popped off.

No famous person I can think of has had the balls to point out that the Arab world has had its own history of colonizing and yes they traded Africans slaves and still have slavery to this day. It’s tiring that our culture permits this noble underdog Arab nonsense.
Additonally: Muslims traded african slaves much, much longer than Europe & their colonies. The reason the West African Slave trade got off the ground as rapidly as it did was because the african slave traders (mostly african muslims) just marched their captives to the western coast instead of to the east and egypt. The processes were already in place thanks to the Caliphate's insatiable demand for slaves. And it was all run by Africans selling other blacks.

The muslims just had the good sense to full emasculate their niggers so they couldn't breed.

Additional historical note: the estimated mortality for slaves being transported by ship to the west was about 30%. The estimated mortality for slaves being transported to the Ottoman slave markets was 70-90%, depending on what part of africa they were coming from and what parts of africa they had to cross.
You have fun stories like the slavers doing absolutely nothing if lions attacked imprisoned slaves (and the other slaves doing nothign to help) or if lions were spotted turning a few slaves loose on the savannah to go be lion or hyena bait.

In 1870, over a decade after the British forced the Ottomans to outlaw slavery, it was estimated that 50,000 slaves passed through the Zanzibar slave market in one month.

Tanks would actually be quieter if they ran on diesel engines, they're typically gas turbine driven which is substantially louder.

That said the idea of a battery driven tank with a usable range is science fiction. It's just not plausible or realistic and that's not likely to change without some serious changes to the technology.

A key issue with batteries is they aren't magic, they're just potential energy. As the energy density increases you have more violent runoffs when they fail. From early lithium ion batteries exploding to electric cars burning so hot that it's almost impossible to extinguish them.

If we created a battery that could meaningfully move a tank it would by definition have to be a potential energy bomb. Modern batteries are approaching the energy density of gasoline and if you google lithium battery fire you can see that potential energy become realized. I can't imagine the stability, thermal issues, and thermal runoff issues with a battery that would drive a tank.

Jet fuel (JP-8 usually) which is just super refined diesel fuel is more stable then most people realize. You can drop a match into JP-8 and it would just extinguish the match. The fumes won't ignite. As far as a burnable hydrocarbon it's pretty safe. This theoretical battery wouldn't be.

I used to think this but Ukraine has actually made me think the opposite. Granted there's very specific terrain there, and it's a war across a long front, but the amount of infantry combat we've seen is surprising, i figured it would be vehicles and over the horizon air the entire way.

No matter how advanced your war machines are, your still going to need soldiers running around. I remember the battle in the first Chechen war when the Russkis tried storming the capital. Perhaps though fuck-ups or just plain idiocy a motorized division wound up advancing into the city without infantry support. They were quickly surrounded by soldiers armed with rpgs, lost most of their officers, most of their vehicles, and had to abandon the all of their equipment. The only people who survived from the division made it out through enemy lines in small groups or one by one. I'm pretty sure even if they had modern drones they would have still been fucked.

Drone warfare scares the shit out of me, just like how soldiers describe feeling in WWI about the long range artillery. There's little you can do and it seems completely based on luck. I think whoever can mass produce a little flying drone that can hold a rifle or shotgun and clear a building with no problem will win the next big war.

One other thing about Islamic slavery in particular is that for some reason they really loved slave soldiers as a concept for a long time.

There were the following:
Ghilman: Slave-soldiers and/or mercenaries in armies throughout the Islamic world. Islamic states from the early 9th century to the early 19th century consistently deployed slaves as soldiers, a phenomenon that was very rare outside of the Islamic world.
Janissaries: Indigenous European Christian boys, chiefly from the Balkans, that were taken, levied, subjected to forced circumcision and forced conversion to Islam and incorporated into the Ottoman army
Mamluks: Non-Arab, ethnically diverse (mostly Turkic, Caucasian, Eastern and Southeastern European) enslaved mercenaries, slave-soldiers, and freed slaves who were assigned high-ranking military and administrative duties, serving the ruling Arab and Ottoman dynasties in the Muslim world.

Think they ultimately stopped because technologically over time the Muslim states fell behind and the Mamluks overthrew their masters while the Janissaries tried to do as well so but ultimately failed.

The reason is that Arabs are utter fucking garbage at war. You can see multiple sultans and commanders lamenting how completely useless Arab formations are on campaign - unreliable, retreat at any contact, liable to desert or just refuse orders.
So the Caliphate elite decided that abducting non-arab children, taking them from their families and homes, and then putting them into brainwashing academies to be forcibly reeducated into muslims loyal solely to the state was preferable to trying to teach Arabs to not suck at war.

Muslim armies, to defend their camps during battle, would take thier (mostly african) slaves, chain them together, stake down the chain, and then give them spears to act as static rear guard. When they came back the slaves would either hand over their weapons or be killed by archers or left to starve until they did (or just abandoned;especially african slaves were viewed as subhuman and completely replaceable)

JP-8 isn't as safe as you claim, it just has a long combustion delay so you have a case of someone striking a match or a temporary short and then instant boom. Which isn't any worse than a "fire safe" lithium battery. just as you point out, the energy density isn't there.

What you would almost certainly see would be a "hybrid" tank - JP-8 turbine powers electric motors with a limited range battery to allow it to 'run silent' for a short period. The idea was initially put forward for supply trucks - the trucks would drive normally to the front then complete the last delivery on electric power. This would actually be massive in Ukraine for both sides - Russia has acoustic-activated/homing mines, Ukrainian forces have said repeatedly they listen for Russian engines to know where to send their drones, and the relative stealth is part of the reason Russia has established Dirt Bike calvary (ok, technically they are mounted infantry).

FLIR would eat your lunch then. You can't just dissipate that amount of heat from the turbines that quickly.

The French had a similar idea with the Leclerc, they did a diesel engine and a gas turbine auxilary power unit for noise reduction. Most likely in the future we'll see diesel (or a) turbine with a large battery for reserve.

I wonder how they managed to even expand out in the early caliphate days in the first place. Even with the exhausted empires they went up against surely they would've been not much at all?

I'm sure the promise of rape, loot, and glory was a major motivator of those early expansions. Being a soldier in an up and coming empire was very lucrative if you are a go getter both financially and career wise as it was easier to fly up the ranks. Once expansions slowdown and the only real benefit of soldering left was a fixed salary (that may or may not get payed out) suddenly people don't feel like risking their lives anymore when the armies of the next up and comers come knocking.

Firstly, because they were in the middle of an area populated by other Arabs, who were also garbage at war. The playing field was level.

Second, Both the Parthians and Romans were both too exhausted to respond appropriately.
Both empires were also dealing with internal issues and some desert wasteland border areas were not a priority. Initially concerned about provoking the other into another costly war, and reports showed the otherside getting hit as hard as they were, so the general response was "Let them run wild for a bit, when we're ready we'll organize a campaign to kick them out". The other key point is the latest dust up had depleted local treasuries and depleted local mercenary organizations. When the Arabs showed up, the usual response of "just hire some dudes to chase away the attackers" wasn't an option.
If Mohammed had tried his shit earlier, it wouldn't have worked. He knew he could away with it because his trading contacts told him exactly how fucked the local empires were and there was an opportunity.

Third, because they coopted local rulers and populations. Mohammed's message of religious and ethnic tolerance was very attractive for cities that had been getting traded back and forth and having pogroms. All of the most impressive early Muslim victories involved some level of deception, or a disaffected local using the Arabs as a way to settle scores. They were doing hit-and-run like they'd been doing for generations, just getting local rulers to swear alliegance instead of fucking back off into the desert.

Fourth, the Caliphate was already starting to flounder until military leadership was taken over by non-Arab muslim converts who had no patience for Typical Arab Behavior. There was also alot of hiring mercenaries that went on.

And as @FILTH Tourist points out, in the early rush the there was a lot more to gain for the average fighter, namely a share loot and spoils, plus the opportunity to rise in station if you were a good soldier/leader. That shifted as the number of muslims increased and eventually all merit-based compensation dried up, and those at the top were interested in remaining at the top.

Depends on terrain. In the desert, yes. in open field, yes. But IR scopes are of limited utility in forested area like Ukraine or South American jungle.

But that depends on someone out there looking. Again you are really, really underestimating how important listening is for detecting incoming armor.
I recommend you leave the urban bugman hive for a bit and realize when there isn't any traffic around inuring you highway sounds, you can hear an 18-wheeler for miles.

Is this available without the preening faggot laughing in-frame? Or at least with only the one preening faggot (Garrison)?
I just spoke with your account manager, and found out he forgot to update you on this month's deals. Since June is Pride Month, all preening faggots are currently Buy One, Get One Free.

I’m not saying anything if you dont

If 67% of Congress weren't customers or on my payroll, this would have been considered an Act of War.
