I've said this before in a Disney Adult thread but to PL slightly, I have a friend who's nephew is a rabid Disney Adult as a single 30+ year old man. No, he's not a diddler (probably) but he's really just Disney's ideal CONSOOMER, even kind of looks the part.

He's a former military guy. I hesitate to call him a vet because he never deployed. He made it through basic training, got a hernia, and has been mooching off the government ever since. He gets about $4,000 per month in disability because he's going to school and it pays for literally everything. However due to his hernia, he's going to continuously collect these checks from the VA for the rest of his life. He's not a veteran. He's never seen combat. He never deployed. He barely finished basic before this happened. He's spent no less than $10,000 worth of taxpayer dollars on Warhammer figurines. At least another $5,000 on MTG cards. And at least $3000 on bad Star Wars tattoos (no I'm not kidding). The rest went into renting his home and motorcycles. He contributes nothing to society (yet) and while he may have an actually beneficial job someday in the future, the past years since leaving the army he's been nothing but a useless eater mooching off this system.

However, you'll still be paying him for the rest of your lives. He has entire armies of Warhammer figurines completely funded by US tax payer dollars. Happy Early Veterans Day!

The military can be such a fantastic gig. Just the GI Bill alone is such a good deal. I didn’t go because I’ll always be certain I wouldn’t have done well if they had me serve in Afghanistan. If I were a young man today and fairly certain my enlistment would just be in a military base in America or Europe I would have tried to get in - and probably get rejected because I’m a fucking retard.

There is no other reason to do this in nations that had absolutely nothing to do with their perceived plights.

Part of the problem is the doctors and nurses telling patients that they MUST go to the doctor because they have mild symptoms that may in like 0.1% of patients be something that's possibly life-threatening. Especially pregnant women. If you're pregnant and call the doctor there is a nonzero chance you'll be directed to the emergency room "just in case" even over extremely minor symptoms. It's bullshit.

I want everyone to know that this is the tip of the iceberg and things are way worse. There is an entire system set up for scamming the VA (and thus you and I) and people coach each other on how to do it, you can even pay to have someone use their social network ("I know a guy who works at the VA") to help process paperwork and say the exact things to maximize benefits for the coveted 100%.

What does 100% get you?

• $3,831.30/month if single and over $4,000 otherwise (Tax free)
• Free healthcare
  • With priority care (above pleb non-100% vets)
• Various state benefits
• Jobs benefits
• Loan benefits
  • Home loans
  • Student loans
• Tax benefits
• Various discounts on various services and programs offered by the government

If you ever talk to someone about it, they will say things like "The money is already set aside, may as well get it." That's over $3,800/month for the rest of their life, tax free. Or a free $45,000 a year spending money to do whatever they want with. No, it isn't "set aside" for the rest of their lives prematurely. They have no clue what part of the budget it's even from.

What is 100% disability?
There's the obvious stuff like loss of limb, blindness, etc. But that isn't how most veterans achieve 100%, and it is an achievement they strive for. The system allows for compounding various issues which is why everyone, even a soldier who only ever sat at a desk, claims tinnitus. Free 10%.
Now add on migraines, back pain, foot pain, knee pain, PTSD, sleep issues, etc. Pile them on until you get the coveted 100%. This might take multiple tries but you have resources to help you word it just right and say just the right things at the VA visits so they maximize the percentage.

The vets abusing the system are going to destroy it but they don't care as long as they get theirs.
