If you're a normal person, what I’m about to say might sound like lunacy, but showering and brushing your teeth are positive habits that you need to develop. Again, most people are normal and don't even think about it that way. For Ian, however, both showering and brushing his teeth are Herculean tasks. For him, it's genuinely easier to buy a house because it's a one-and-done thing, unlike the daily struggle of forcing himself to shower or brush his teeth. Yes, Ian is that far gone.
