Sorry if it has been stated and I missed it, but what is the state of the franchise? Are they still working on a Female film startng Margot Robbie? Weren't they doing a reboot? And/ or I feel like I read something last year they may do another with Depp returning.

The good news is that the Margot Robbie reboot was quietly cancelled and Disney stated they are interested in making a new Pirates movie with Depp as Sparrow again.

The problem is that Depp isnt that excited towards working for Disney again after they, among others, had blacklisted him when the court case against his bed shitting wife was still going (despite the fact that a veredict hadnt been reached yet and even back then already it was starting to lean towards Depp's side). You could declare it as a "noodle incident". Its something that happened but the hows are left to our interpretation, they just really wanted to show Cobra Bubbles had a Men in Black type past and he knows how to solve situation with aliens. It raises all sort of questions that they dont intend to answer but you can tell that was the intention to make him look cool as hell. And it worked.

Honestly what more can they do with Sparrow? The guy has to be in his 60's or late 50's in the most recent movie. Not to mention something even more important, the Age of Sails/Pirates was ending by the time of AWE. The Bretheren Court could drive away the EIC for now but they still have greater numbers, a bigger presence and more resources. There was no scenario where that level of piracy could thrive anymore and the trilogy ended on that note but alluding to maybe one last possible grand adventure.

It doesn't seem to be mentioned anywhere but apparently some news has come out that Halle Bailey, the DEI woke live-action Little Mermaid, is basically a black-washed version of Amber Heard.

Showing up uninvited to a theater & allegedly trying to fight a woman he was with.

Physically assaulting him during an argument — he claims she hit him & caused a cut on his hand, & that she accidentally injured herself during the incident she later described as abuse.

He's also asking the judge to block Halle from taking their child to Italy. He also wants sole legal & physical custody — or, if that’s not granted, for all custodial exchanges to be handled by a third party.
