My theory remains that they broke up. From his perspective the prospect of moving to Canada is long gone and his only defence is to blame all the wrongdoings on her. From her perspective, the prospect of further visa runs is not possible and he's useless if he's in jail or deported back to Syria. Either one would throw the other under the bus in a heartbeat.
They both have alot of shit on each other and understand that it will damage them both, but also potentially pay for their needs moving forward, be it escaping jail/deportation or starting a new life in Canada. They could be contacting a lawyer, arguing among themselves or blackmailing each other to see what tea they can spill for views and when. Also, if they were still together and their fairytale love story prevailed I'd think she would have rubbed it in our face in those impulsive community posts she made.
That said, Chantal may be incapable of thinking about anything other than food, so who knows.

That's not Chantal.
